I'm still stuck on episode 10, but I can confidently say there's no significant development that's going to make me like it more. The casting is amazing, but the drama loses its fuel so quickly, even before reaching the halfway point. The romance is just average. I think the rich–poor theme isn't overly exaggerated, but it's still dramatic in its own way (great OSTs tho). Unfortunately, I just can't bring myself to like the two male leads, they're too helpless, emotional, and only end up putting pressure on the female lead.
I haven't read much about everyone's overall impression of Tan, but I'm on the side that doesn't really like him. He's kind, and I guess he tries to be a better person after meeting Eunsang, but I feel like the scriptwriter didn't know what to do with him because he's not a strong enough character to actually bring change. That makes him pretty boring, and he just comes off as another privileged rich kid forcing his feelings onto someone beneath him.
I think Eunsang needs to gain more confidence, it's not her fault she was born poor, but the people around her keep pushing her to make choices. She made the most realistic one, so I wish the story focused more on her finding herself rather than watching these rich people scandalous life. Sorry but she deserves so, so, so much better.
Ji Changwook… wow, you're really something. He went all out with his role, and I could feel the main character's suffering through the screen. Kyungsoo also did a good job, but I hope to see more of his side later on. The first four episodes focus more on our protagonist's background, not much has been shown yet, though the potential for an intense clash between them is already brewing.
