Promising. Very promising!

Interesting end-of-the world love idea, although quite exploited recently: I've seen at least 2 BLs with this kind of story lately.
Not bad acting.
The lead (Seto Toshiki) played already in another BL, he was blond there which I found awkward, but he is back to black now and sooo much better.
The second guy is suspiscious, sweet but there is something sinister about him. I don't quite trust him, and the way he pushed himself on Masumi, hmmm... it was kinda Valmont seducing madame de Tourvel!
The song at the end of the first episode so sweet , like a gentle lullaby. And I was pleased to hear a girl's voice which would not sound pretentious or 5 years old.
And the best thing: kissing. EVENTUALLY. Oh my goodness, dear japanese drama guys, we've been waiting for so long!
Please follow this path. You don't need to go too far, but keep going this way!
Thank you. <3

A beautiful painting

Very weird, very strange, and absolutely beautiful with this weirdness. Another example of a low budget gem, a beautiful magnetic picture, where the faces features are not too sharp, but you enjoy watching silhouettes and lights surraunded with this strange sounds, and all this creates an amazing atmosphere.
The plot of the film may seem illogical, but the way the story goes you accept it all and you are not disturbed. A naked man standing on a highway claims to be from Mars and is picked up by people who just simply accept his story and later on teach the ET everything about the Earth and earthly interactions.
Initially, I thought that the BL thread would be someting superficial or of less importance, but it's the axis of the film. Actually the theme is simply love, love that connects living creatures regardless their sexes, and their origin.
The scene when an Earthling explains to a Martian how love is expressed on Earth, the naked silhouettes and vibrant colors and calm, is simply a cult scene for me. The next one in which the Earthling and the Martian finally show this love to each other is simply hypnotic.
Yes, I know, the film may irritate those who like fast action and a realistic story, but for me it's just a wonderful picture that I can't take my eyes off of.

The Man Who Has Saved the World of BL

A Man Who Defies the World of BL "is a parody of BL's dramas, poking fun at cliches and the entire world of BL, with its excluding non-BL romances reality and with crazy fujoshis and fudanshi freaks.
There were moments that I laughed like a madman, mainly due to the actor who plays with his eyes, facial expressions and body in a minimalist way, and the way he does it just kills, crushes and cuts you into chaff. : D The guy hardly says anything, as the film is a narrative, so we hear his thoughts and his mimic is their perfect illustration. Plus, for people who are familiar with japanese language, the film is extremely fun: the voice modulation and some phrases just nail it all ..

So here is a story about a student who has realized that the world around him has turned completely gay and he is terribly afraid that eventually this BL virus will infect him irreversibly. So he decides to oppose!
Soon after, however, he receives a deep blow to the very heart, he learns that even his closest people are infected, but despite the shock, he fights to the last drop of blood. After successive breakdowns, he falls into an overwhelming resignation, which can be seen in his increasingly tired face and more and more stooped figure. After all, the only weapon he has left is his bitter sarcasm ...
The film makes fun of all known BL clichés: scenes at school, in the school corridors, on a bridge, on a roof, seme's hand on the uke's head, intertwined fingers, naked torsos, leaning heads in the cinema, Valentine's chocolates, etc. etc, well, all the BL elements, that we know so very well. : D
I watched all eps one after the other and I was excited about every sentence and dialogue. The scene at the soda machine in the second episode threw me off my chair, the scene when Mobu comes home drunk and is afraid to fall over on the street, lest some flower boy accidentally save him, just smashes it all ..
I think we have a breakthrough and a fresh breeze here. Maybe at last BL cinema will move towards some originality, in spite of making the same stories all over again changing the actors only...
Oh wait, the truth is that I actually miss the japanese odlschools and the japanese sensitivity, and to be frank this film does not mock them at all, but actually hugs them tenderly. So do I!
