Out of curiosity, where do you see those stats on GagaOOLala? I can't seem to see them anywhere. I'm also surprised…
I think GagaOOLala tweeted about it breaking their records - or they retweeted one of the BL Twitter accounts reporting that it had broken GagaOOLala records. I just remember it was definitely on Gagaoolalas Twitter
I’ve been trying to figure out what makes me love this drama so so much and I think so much of it is down to the leads. To me their chemistry and acting is just top tier - chemistry as good as theirs is rare to find in dramas and usually if a pairing has it it’s because they’ve been coupled up in earlier projects or have known each other irl a long time, but that’s not the case here. Also it’s crazy to me that this has over taken My Beautiful Man on GagaOOLala as having the most watched episode on their site - My Beautiful Man was a massive hit - I thought it wouldn’t be beaten for a long long time.
honestly - I just am in love with this series. How it’s shot makes it feel so different to other BLs and it makes me so happy to see! But I can definitely see that it’s the same director as Love Mechanics - there are some similar themes/scenes (but this feels darker) and I am such a huge Love Mechanics fan so I couldn’t be happier.
I just love this drama an insane amount, I was watching it as it was airing, but then I decided to take a break because I was getting through it too quickly. I’m now on episode 24 and I just don’t want it to end. This couples relationship is just so so beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drama couple that truly love, support, cherish and value eachother so much (whilst also being so adorable that I can’t help but squeal and giggle over them) I just love all these characters and I’m going to miss this drama - I can’t believe I only have 2 episodes left! I think this drama also is a sign that my preferences as a viewer have changed - I used to be all about the dramatic, toxic “will they/won’t they” plots but for the past year the dramas I’ve enjoyed the most are about these cute, healthy, stable, strong relationships.
I just really hope the friendship between the 2 male leads is as deep, layered and beautiful as it was in the original, because there was a certain scene with them that made me cry more than I've maybe ever cried at during a drama. It's just one thing I really hope they carry over from the original - the 3 leads have a confusing relationship, but at its core its this really powerful and wonderful friendship - I just hope that's built and its not just the romantic drama they deliver on here.
WOAH! In my opinion that first episode was INCREDIBLE! I love the enemies-lovers trope and this is serious enemies-lovers - I'm thrilled! I've always thought Perth a good actor, but I've never seen him in a role like this and he was really intimidating here - I am so excited to see how this series continues from here! My most anticipated GMMTV series never end up being my favourites, but this is my favourite beginning to a GMMTV drama so far this year!
I have been wanting to watch this for ages, but after hearing how bad the subs are I decided to wait a bit, but it looks unlikely the subs will ever improve - are they really that bad?
In my opinion as far as direction and cohesive storytelling goes My Only 12% was by far New’s best series yet. But the teasers for this are looking really really beautiful - they could be coming for My Only 12%’s spot! New can create seriously average series, but every now and then he makes something so special!
personally I feel like you officially cannot call this a bromance anymore! Episodes 21 & 22. The things that were done and said!!! so romantic and beautiful!
I feel like episode 3 really changed things for me. In my opinion episodes 1 & 2 really weren’t that special and were quite messy - and looking back this series was really just finding it’s footing in those first 2 episodes, but from episode 3 onwards JoongDunks chemistry has been shining and there have been so many seriously adorable moments between Joke and Zo. I’m really a fan of this now!
I thought there’s still a danmei adaptation filming ban in China? But maybe they ended that and it’s just that they’re illegal to air in China? Or maybe they could film season 2 in Taiwan! I don’t know! so much new info has come out suddenly.
It’s very sweet that SeungHo shared that tomorrow it’ll be their 200th day officially dating! crazy that they’ve been dating for over 6 months! But he also shared that him and JunSeung feel uncomfortable posting couple photo’s because of the prejudice that is still very present in Korea - so people really really need to understand their choice to not post. If you’re a fan just be happy that they are happy, travelling and living their everyday together - that’s all fans of them could hope for!
this was such a beautiful film. the only actors I knew of beforehand were Andy Huang and Esther Huang - the majority of the cast aren’t professional actors, but I loved this film the family was so beautifully portrayed. And the middle section of the film - when Andy Huangs character showed up - was probably my favourite, that was the funniest section of the film - him only speaking English and the family trying to communicate with him and bond with him was hilarious - the whole audience was cracking up!
So beautiful and heartbreaking. The chemistry between the two leads is insane. You know how it’s going to end from the moment the film starts, but that doesn’t make the journey any less impactful. In the Q&A today director also told a cute story about the “young” versions of the leads. In the call back auditions they asked the boy to completely improvise a speech to convince the girl (auditioning for young Nora) to not leave Korea and he did so well the girl in the audition started crying and begged the writer/director to not let Nora leave. They obviously cast them but told the girl Nora has to leave Korea - so sweet! Also that Yoo Teo did such an incredible job throughout the shoot portraying this very shy, quiet, sensitive character that at the wrap party when he completely dropped the character they were all shocked how different his personality was.
