I would like to start by saying, you do not need to watch the Korean version first if you want to watch this version, since it is exactly the same. Some scenes are the same to the exact second. But that didn't really bother me. Considering that Age of Youth is my favourite kdrama I have ever watched. However, Personally I preferred this version rather than the Korean version. Mainly because I preferred the actors/actresses that played the characters they did. I think they suited the role more than the original characters in Age Of Youth. STORY
I was really excited when I heard there was going to be a remake of this. The plot is really interesting and includes things such as gender norms, depression, suicidal tendencies, abusive relationships, PTSD, isolation, betrayal, sexuality, murder, eating disorders, child predators. These are elements that I like about the plot, since its something that (originally AOY) Korea wouldn't consider since they are quite picky or triggered about these things in general. For Korea (originally AOY) to make a drama including these elements is a big step for drama plots, in my opinion. These things are happening on a daily basis in real life, so i'm glad that they included as many things as they could and STILL made the story line interesting. A remake of AOY made me happy because it is shown that the impact of AOY's story line was being spread and recognised by the people in China and the viewers, wherever they come from, who don't watch Kdramas and more Cdrama's (or vise-versa) will be able to recognise these things and be aware of it. This impact made me be more noticeable of things in my everyday life because of the thoroughness and effort they made in this plot. Although I had already seen the original version of this drama, i still rated the story 10, because the plot in general is amazing and is played amazingly by both actors and actresses in both dramas that i couldn't rate it less.
ACTING/CAST
Some characters I found less intimidating in this version but that could just be because I watched AOY first and knew them first. However, I prefer the characters played by the actors/actresses in this drama than the original. This is because their overall appearance suited the character more, since i already got to know the characters in AOY, I was expecting the characters to be lower than my expectations, but I was wrong. I felt more of an attraction and connection to the characters in Youth, rather than AOY. But, If they remake season 2 of AOY, I hope they do not replace XiaoChun for another character, just because they replaced EunJae (AOY) for another actress due to the real actresses circumstances. However, this might affect some scenes in Youth 2, if they want to make it exactly the same.
MUSIC
I loved the music. The 2 minute long intro, i never skipped because the song was so good! The background music in the actual drama was amazing too and fit the scenes perfectly. I do not have any criticism for this.
REWATCH VALUE
I would definitely consider re-watching this anytime. Before watching this, many times I had considered rewatched the whole of AOY. But, now I had watched this completely, although having to stop watching for a while due to studying and exams, the Chinese remake is now my more favourite than Age Of Youth, and would consider re-watching this version rather than the original.

The benefit of having many members
The benefit of having many members allows groups to create fun varieties shows like this. This show is a survival of the fittest type of competition show that involves the 16 members of tripleS as contestants. This show is interesting to watch since many members have been on survival shows before, so it is interesting to see their tactics through this survival show from what they have previously learned. It is a great show to get to know the members if you are interested in getting to know tripleS and good to watch for a laugh :)Was this review helpful to you?
The recasted characters are surprisingly really accurate. I am super impressed at Jihan being recasted for Doah and she did a great job.
I really enjoyed the story progression and plot for Na-ri and Seungha. And honestly I really couldn't decide which pairing I liked better between the two main leads and Na-ri.
I loved the OST intro song by Weeekly and have added it to my playlist, but I thought maybe Yena would've also done an OST for this drama since she is the main character.
I was quite shocked to find out that the season only has 10 episodes when I was expecting 12, so to me the ending was quite a cliff hanger and there is most likely going to be a next season and if there won't be a next season then the ending as empty.
Overall I really enjoyed this and loved seeing Yena in her first acting role.
Highly recommend for a easy to watch drama, and if you do not like recasted dramas then I do not think it is necessary to watch the first season.

After watching the series "Last Twilight", I wanted a similar type of series which had portrayal of a visually impaired or hearing impaired character. Last Twilight involves visually-impaired characters, whereas Twinkling Watermelon involves hearing-impaired characters. The story is amazing and I cried almost every episode. I personally love Time Travel genre series and Twinkling Watermelon was a Time Travel series that focused on the ML's family. I really liked that the ML could connect with his parents and understand them better through this series. I really enjoyed the storyline and relationship development of Yichan and Cheongah. Even though I liked the ending for this series, I think there could be room for a season 2 which focused on the relationship development of Yichan and Cheongah after Yichan becomes hearing impaired and his journey continuing to learn sign language. This is one of the best series that I watched in 2024 - even though I do not usually watch sad and emotional dramas, this was a great series and would probably watch it again. I was looking forward to this series for a long time since Gemini and Fourth are my favourite BL couple, However I did find this a bit cringey from time to time and much preferred Mudmee and Half's story. However the romance between Atom and Kongthap is still manageable to watch. Mudmee and Half's story was really cute, I almost cried when Half asked Mudmee to be his girlfriend because it was so cute. I also love the friendship between Atom and Mudmee, they are always there for each other and it's really sweet. However,I don't usually like to compare to other dramas but compared to My School President and Moonlight Chicken, this has to be last place out of the three, Their story during Moonlight Chicken was so beautiful that I think this drama really stepped back from that and they deserved a better drama. I wouldn't say this drama is bad or anything, but compared to Moonlight Chicken I think I just expected more. I almost dropped it from Episode 10, but I managed to finish it, but I was a little bit disappointed as a G4 fan.

I initially watched about 3 episodes of this drama a few months ago, however it kind of terrified me a bit and I became very anxious so I decided to stop watching. However I really wanted to watch it so I started it from the beginning and I wasn't as scared this time. I really liked this drama, (even though I will probably be scared to go on a bus now), I really loved the main characters and the process of their relationship, however I do think there should have been more romance considering they had loads of chemistry I felt. I also really liked Lu Di but I wish that he was just a little bit more involved. I do think that they could have made at least one more episode to finish it up, like how they re-visited the case of before and such, and built a friendship with Lu Di, but over all I do think this was a great drama. At first, I initially dropped this because I was getting annoyed by her voice as her younger version , but after watching The Romance of Tiger and Rose, I really came to like Zhao Lusi and her acting, so I decided to rewatch this from the start. I also think that this drama could be viewed wrongly, especially as the actress who played young Sangzhi was most likely about 9/10 years old at the time of filming. In adulthood I believe 5 years age difference is not bad, but considering that they knew each other when Sangzhi was in middle school it can be misinterpreted even though they started the romance after she was an adult. Sangzhi's crush was cute and I think the drama portrayed it well but after they started dating it did start to become dragging. I personally think they should have ended it at 20 episodes because the final 5 episodes kind of dragged a bit, if it didn't drag so much in the final 5, I most likely would have given this drama an 8.5 or 9. Also, Sang Yan kept saying he had a girlfriend, I know there is a spin-off series regarding this but in my opinion I would have preferred it if Sang Yan and Yuxin got together and met online while playing games, I was expecting this to happen and it never did. Victor Ma/Sang Yan was my most favourite character in this series. I really loved Victor Ma in this drama and also his OST "Be Your Light", I had it on replay so much. Was this review helpful to you?

I don't think that this drama was that bad, but it's not the best either. There was a lot of internal homophobia and bullying tropes, the relationship was kind of rushed and there wasn't any scenes of actually confirming the relationship, it was just a cheesy classroom moment, and there was not even a proper closure(?) regarding Taejoon and Jooha's relationship and just ended abruptly without knowing what happened with their relationship? It was kind of confusing and I don't really like bullying trope relationships - and it was quite difficult to rate this series because I personally don't know how I felt, there were times when I enjoyed it, and there were times when I didn't. But I understand why some people may enjoy this series and why it is often recommended. Was this review helpful to you?

I was very hesitant to watch the second season and almost didn't due to people saying there is cheating involved. However I decided to watch it. Teh annoyed me so much in this season and almost made me go insane. At a lot of parts I just wanted Ohaew to just be with Q, But, part of me still wanted Teh and Ohaew to be together. I think the production of season 1 and season 2 were really well executed and great. But I personally feel like the need for a season season was unnecessary. Season 1 was fine on its own and season 2 made people have different opinions on their relationship. But, Despite this, I didn't cry in either the first or second season, but the ending made me cry, I really liked the ending. Was this review helpful to you?
