Title Ticket to Heaven Spoiler
a car accident.
they mentioned it in the premiere episode. and i think the second, when kongdech's parents travelled from home to the school.

And your name engraved herein was also based on the director's personal experience. Just like TTH is roughly based…
period!

I thought about it during ep 4 and this episode confirmed it: Barth never stop believing in God. In this episode…
true. i said that as someone who feels the same way as him regarding the religion we were both raised in, so i guess him making positive comments when confessing to tan under that artwork in the chapel triggered my trust issues. :(

ticket to heaven showed us several paths and it's baffling how these comments don't get them. tan was raised to join a seminary. he has read the bible his whole life and didn't need raging homophobes to tell him what he felt was wrong according to his religion. barth was bullied in school for being gay, so idk why the comments are making it seem like the story had no bullies. barth watched his religious dad beat up his religious mom and i can't spoil further but barth's background alone is more relatable than what the main characters in your name engraved in (another masterpiece - but since y'all love comparisons, let's do it) portrayed. there is no single universal linear experience for what a gay boy goes through while being raised as a christian. and i am proof of this. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

y'all would say they make plots the same but still come around and want the plots to stay the same. pick a struggle. not every religious bl must follow the same route. if this series had the same plot as your name engraved herein (as most of y'all seemed to be wanting), it would've been deemed copypasta and there would be a thousand comments about how thai bl can't be original.

i have no complaints about this except that they suddenly made barth lean back into the faith. they should've kept it as, he just had to bear with his religious partner, not give in to him. anygays, i saw some comments saying we shouldn't call this a masterpiece and some saying we could because it is a masterpiece when compared to the trash bl thailand has been making. here is my opinion nobody asked for - as are those unsolicited opinions being trashed around in this comsec. ticket to heaven is a cinematic masterpiece that would've hit even harder than this as a box-office movie. thai bl isn't trash! they paved the way for y'all chinese bl. and what has china done? thailand is a safe space for the gays whereas china is not, yet chinese bl don't seem to give a fuck about these so-called experiences y'all want thai bl to portray so badly. also, your name engraved herein is taiwanese and set in the martial law era! of course, things were more rigid then than in nineties thailand where christianity was just an upcoming religion without the whole crisis of forcd attached. you gotta be dumb to not understand that. magdalene college was a countryside, secluded boarding school. where are the raging homophobes to hit on tan and bartg? it was a secret! their relationship was hidden from everyone. the father of the school didn't reveal it, so how did you think the raging homophobes were supposed to know? or you think us gays must be bullied before we come to terms with our sexuality? bffr! barth was beaten up by his dad!

It's been almost 24 hours since the episode aired, and I finally feel like I've gathered my thoughts. Well...…
it IS a bl. can y'all stop doing this? a gay boy going through shit in his mind and navigating his thoughts with the help of a boy he loves… is a bl, for crying out loud.

i won't say much, but those who don't want this how to have a (deserved) happy ending probably love seeing us…
that said, the decision of what way the ending goes lies on the team of writers, directors, etc; not us. i'm just calling out the naysayers.

i won't say much, but those who don't want this how to have a (deserved) happy ending probably love seeing us gays miserable for the plot.

i mean, if you had suggested that before the series aired, i would've imbibed a sense of nuance, but the opening scene of this series literally announces that gay marriages have started being registered in the country and the look on barth's face was not sad, not downtrodden. and we don't know who he came to visit.

could be any one of the friends they made. could be kongdech (i doubt kongkit would ever amount to anything). could be that tan moved abroad and will come back. could be anything.

in summation, if you still strongly hold on to the need of a not-happy ending, i think we need some self-reflection, babes.

why does the priest say “hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years” when present timeline is 2025 and past…
most events will happen in the past, and then, we'll be transported to the future (present, 2025).

looking both ways to check if anyone was coming so you could hit a chat with barth, but you ended up leaving… we know what you want, tan. it's right in front of our faces. 😂🤌🏼
