I love how realistic Zhuang Jie is. She’s flawed, messy, and fiercely guarded because she’s spent her entire life trying to prove she isn't a burden due to her disability. Her bubbly personality is a survival mechanism to control how the world sees her. She pushes Maidong away out of pure fear, and that raw, defensive psychology makes her feel like a real human being instead of a perfect, flat drama character.

I agree with you. I really enjoyed this drama. I think you might like Mysterious Lotus Casebook (it's one of my favorites). I don't really know many other good mystery historical dramas (because people these days usually love watching a show just for romance, so there is a mystery drama drought), but I do know some good modern dramas like Archives: The Nanyang Mystery, Deep Afection Eyes (there is a little mystery about the FL's mother), Meet Yourself (if you ever need a drama that can heal your SOUL) and The Best Thing (One drama where there is NO annoyingly long misunderstandings and if there is it is solved within the next episode there was like only 1).
