What I especially love about Zen and Ryo's relationship is that even though they’re highly competitive, they never intentionally try to hurt or belittle each other. They stay attentive to each other’s feelings, and there’s a genuine sense of care and respect between them that feels really refreshing.
Also want to commend the actors who played the younger versions of the leads. I think they really added depth and emotional weight to the story, and the younger timeline made their connection feel even more genuine and meaningful.
Honestly I'm just so grateful to the production team and cast for bringing one of my favorite BL manga to life. I might end up writing comments weekly because I’m just happy the manga got the adaptation it deserves. 🥰
If you’re getting tired of BLs filled with chaotic drama or relationships where possessiveness is romanticized as “love,” give this one a chance. The first time I watched this, I honestly wasn’t sure if it would be my kind of series, but both characters slowly grew on me. Their connection felt sincere, the characters felt emotionally grounded, and their relationship dynamic was comforting to watch.
Sometimes quieter stories like Our Youth don’t become the loudest or most talked-about, but they end up being the ones I keep coming back to because they feel emotionally safe and authentic.
Yes, I'm not a fan of him at all. He makes it very hard to root for him.
I expect many to oppose them as the end game because of how emotionally damaging their relationship becomes over time. It has already crossed some lines that made reconcialition hard to root for. On the other hand, besides the fact that they still love each other, they were framed as "fated to be together" in this story (hence Double Helix) who cannot emotionally move on from each other.
The manga has 2 volumes. Volume 1 has 6.5 (or 7 chapters) and episode 4 is already chapter 5. I think the sneak…
The source material is honestly amazing and one of my favorite BL manga, which is why I was hesitant to watch the adaptation because I didn’t want to end up disappointed. But one thing I really appreciate about this series is how they handled the backstory. Ryo was already completely down bad from the very beginning 😅
Lu Feng loves sincerely, but he was already showing red flags as early as eps 1 and 2 — possessiveness, emotional manipulation, and an overwhelming attachment toward Yi Chen. Those traits didn't suddenly appear later; but will simply get amplified by the trauma of losing Yi Chen and the obsession that grew from their separation.
If Lu Feng is truly destined to spiral further into darkness (hopefully not as dark as in the novel), please give us a hopeful ending where the two of them can finally stay together. 😭
...no... i can't. It will be the death of me - and you want to insist this has 12 episodes? --- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!…
The manga has 2 volumes. Volume 1 has 6.5 (or 7 chapters) and episode 4 is already chapter 5. I think the sneak peak is for the remaining chapters of vol 1.
If it's indeed 10-12 episodes, then we will have Vol 2 (with 6 chapters) adapted as well. And that makes me so excited ❤️
Happy birthday to our Dabao, our Zi Yu!!! You deserve all the recognition and love you're getting now. Keep on fighting and we'll keep on supporting you 🥳
This series is a masterpiece. The story is not your typical fluffy romance, but a deep dive into trauma, healing, and enduring love. Both actors delivered outstanding performances. Kim Nu-Rim's portrayal of Do Hoe's inner turmoil was so heart-wrenching, while Lee Sun as Ju Yeong was the perfect counterbalance because of his bright and optimistic energy.
If you like the series "Our Youth" (Japanese BL) or series that focuses on healing from past trauma, you will also like this one.
lol i kind like him with the grandpa their dynamic is just better. the grandson was hella weird
Agree! When Ze Fang started to get pushy in the first episode, it made me feel uncomfortable that I instantly dislike him for Hai Yuan. But based on the trailer and some hints from episode 2, it looks like Grandpa and Haiyuan is the main CP here.
To be honest, I was quick to judge Wu Zheng in the first episode. Like "dude are you taking advantage of the guy with a mental capacity of a kid???" But he turned out to be a loving, understanding, and patient boyfriend for Yu Shi.
If you are unsure whether to watch this series or not, I'd say give it a go.
Almost missed on this one because of the relatively low rating. This series is so underrated that it actually makes me sad. Such an interesting and unique plot. Erek Lin is great here ( okay I am obsessed with him). I just want to hug Amber after knowing what he went thru all those years 😭 And Yu He, I just love the realness of her character. I am honestly okay if Le ended up falling for her instead. The girl deserves to be happy.
Also the series has one of the best OST. "D.N.A" and "Butterfly" are my absolute favorites. Definitely up there with Unknown/WBL OSTs

Btw I am loving the actors in this series, especially the one who played Ryo. I can just feel his longing for Zen 🥹
