I'm not sure but he was aware how much his mother had rewarded the FL with so I'm guessing asking for anything else for herself would have come across as pretty greedy to him. Milking her good deed for more major benefits.

when the ML is talking to FL about what kind of reward she wants and she asks to go home. He looks neutral. Then she says she does have something else to ask for and you can almost feel him think "I knew she'd be like everyone else" but then she asks for something easy and not for herself but for her mom and I think THAT moment when he looks at her, you can feel a tiny hint of interest in her as a person instead of a slightly observant maid.

Another EP 12 observation...

this is true except she hadn't really tried in a "fair" way to get close to the ML... she immediately tried with underhanded tactics to trap him against his will. I think her ruminations then were more of "now he'll be on guard & I can't entrap him as easily now" BUT I may be wrong.

The scene where the 2nd FL is trying to play GO with the ML but he's already definitely not having it and is now on guard against her. I found it very specific that he picked up the piece she put down after she left and put it where he wanted it. IDK I felt like it was very specifically showing even though she felt she had entered the game that he was still very much aware of her moves and wasn't going to have any of it. Very good scene!

this is moving more like slice of life similar to Story of MingLan... it will be slow and steady for a while, I'd wager.

ALLLLL of that to get an ending where they end up back together... not because they sat down and had a meaningful talk and worked out their issues but because he strong-armed his way back into her life and dropped the word "love" for the first time. disappointing. neither one of them grew/had character growth in their relationships. Not one little bit. Even down to FL allowing her subordinate to casually call a random guy "brother in law"?? or whatever. I'm sure that guy will be the reason for their next "misunderstanding" grrrr
