I agree with you. I thought them as a couple was very boring and attribute it to a lack of chemistry.
A splendid Match is so underrated; it's so nicely done. I agree the ending was a little incomplete but didn't detract from how much I enjoyed each episode!

This! The more they revealed his past, the less sympathetic of a character he became. He was calculating from the beginning; he never expressed a desire to 'avenge his family' only to get what he thought was his. His dying words were that he had to work hard for everything...well so do most people! Him as a character was actually very one dimensional/not deep.
