I think that if they included more scenes of Ian and Jeongwoo being friends, then the betrayal would have been more impactful. We are constantly told that they're friends, that they've been friends for years, but when we see them together in scenes, they are tense and jealous of one another. I did not find their friendship believable and so Ian's conviction that Jeongwoo was trustworthy even when Huiju started having doubts was kind of ridiculous. Maybe if we saw some flashbacks depicting them pre-Huiju then this situation could have hit more. Their confrontation scene in the finale was well-acted but ultimately empty - at least for me - since we never got to see their friendship. So it read more like "the prime minister tried to kill me" rather than "someone I thought was one of my closest friends tried to kill me".
god li huaian pissed me off in this episode. he showed up, saw changyu barely able to walk and thought, "ah, yes, but how do I make it all about myself? how do I make myself to be the biggest victim?" screw this guy
I desperately need Snow Kong and Deng Kai in a different drama as leads because their chemistry is crazy and I want to be able to ship them without regrets lol
the birthday party was adorable but i feel like it's too little too late. also, maybe it's just me but i wouldn't invite my almost-ex-boyfriend and boss to my nephew's birthday. like why is he even there. and giving him such a big entrance? he should have arrived with other co-workers. but no, even in the final episode the writer had to put the spotlight on him instead.... sigh
i was holding on to hope that they'll at least end this drama nicely but oh my god. this kind of storylines should have been introduced many episodes ago... but instead we had second lead drama. what a waste of bae inhyuk
taehyung is an angel... seriously. and the woojo-fication of his house? adorable. taehyung truly is the best character in this drama and his development is precious to watch.
maybe this is a strong reaction but i don't think i'll be able to watch anything with park seoham going forward. he's traumatised me with this role lmao i never want to see his face again.
at this point i just want the four of them to be in the same place and for wooju to completely ignore the SML…
also i can't just be mad at hyunjin because at the end of the day that guy is her BOSS. whether or not he views this that way, her employment depends on keeping him happy, especially during the time when she was still a temporary worker. he is abusing his power, knowingly or not, and it's creepy. i don't care that they knew each other in college. he is now her direct boss. leave her alone.
at this point i just want the four of them to be in the same place and for wooju to completely ignore the SML and only focus on his beloved uncle taehyung. maybe then this dude will finally understand that he's the third wheel here
Looking at the comments here, it seems like I'm in the minority but I did not enjoy this reveal lol Hyejoo was…
I also forgot to add that I distinctly remember that at the beginning the drama put an emphasis on the fact that the stab wound was so precise, and now they're telling us the murdered slipped and fell? And the knife just happened to land perfectly? Come on...
Looking at the comments here, it seems like I'm in the minority but I did not enjoy this reveal lol Hyejoo was such an obvious choice. Until the very end I was hoping for someone (literally anyone) else. And the motive being "she's a crazy ex-girlfriend 🤪" is just so unimaginative. The actress was great, though. Also Wooseong randomly being a person that "has a habit of recording everything"? How convenient.
Quite a disappointing watch. Basically, if you're not going to deliver a "passionate" romance as promised, at least give us a "passionate" plot. This show unfortunately had neither. Any interesting plot point that could have been explored (the whole thing with Luzhou's mum, Luzhou going abroad, for example) was dropped immediately, resolving any tension and taking away the intrigue with it. The FL, at least in my opinion, is not a bad actress and she actually had a nice chemistry with Wang Anyu, especially in more comedic parts. This chemistry, however, would evaporate instantly in romantic scenes and that is probably the biggest issue here. This is supposed to be a romance drama, after all, and no amount of good acting is going to change the fact that they just couldn't deliver on the promise of "passionate love", despite Wang Anyu trying sooo hard. The second lead couple was actually more fun to watch ngl
