yeah. whole thing about her reincarnating as his cousin in the alternate history post credit ending was stupid.…
They didn't change her parents though? In the alternate history, Yan Zheng's mother literally asked "General Wei likes daughters that much?" General Wei, not Chancellor Wei. Also, in that alternate reality, Yan Zheng addresses Chang Yu's mother as Meng Yi. Chang Yu's mother's name was Meng Li Hua. Yi (姨) also literally means maternal aunt, mother's sister. If they changed Chang Yu to being Wei Yan's daughter, kiddie Yan Zheng in the alternate reality would have addressed Chang Yu's mother as Jiu Mu (舅母) (wife of mother's brother) like he addressed Wei Yan's wife in the drama.

By that logic, they probably weren't cousins in the alternate history either. The alternate history did not alter any biological relations, only what would have happened if the tragedy didn't take place. Anyway, I saw another comment that said in the novel her father was adopted so they weren't blood related. Their families were probably just close.
Ok I know our FL is a genius and a super capable girlie and I love her, but come on, she is not at all experience…
Yeah lmao, same way how Mr Stategist Gongsun was able to perform CPR after hearing a two-liner about how it works from Qian Qian. The directors were really stretching it with how fast the characters pick up skills from a bit of advice, with hardly any practice 🤣
i love this drama but i hate "childhood connection" plots too. that was the only downer for me. and she…
Ji Ah still stays on as secretary so I guess FL has a reduced workload as Ji Ah is there as a second assistant. But honestly, now that I am rewatching this drama again after so long I feel like it's lowkey kinda sad because in the end she didn't get to quit. Sure, she found love, she got married but in a way it's like she still didn't get to do what she wanted after all lol
I saw S1 after having that drama on hold for 5 years and it was soooo good, then i started S2 but you can see…
cyborg is a better word. when i got to that point my first thought was "is wu zhu shu a freaking AI bot??" cause that totally killed the vibe for me lol. but that made me think maybe the Divine Temple is really just a Tech Lab lol
Also I agree, the way Fan Xian was revealed to be the emperor's son in S1 and how many of the characters just quietly accepted that fact in S2 without some big reaction was a little underwhelming in my opinion.
this is one of those dramas that make you go "why didn't I watch this earlier?!" but you know what, I don't regret not watching this earlier because at least now I am able to watch this while in a headspace that allows me to actually absorb everything and take in all the details and enjoy this drama for the masterpiece that it is. this is definitely one of the best written chinese drama out there. and bonus point, I don't have to wait to watch season 2!
Thinking of starting this. I watched Legend of Zhang Hai, and someone recommended this to be as good. Anyone agrees?…
watch it please! omg, this drama is really good. and the main character? absolute chef's kiss. he's so smart and just so different from most mcs and the story is good. you won't regret watching it, trust me.
someone recommended me this drama saying it's good but seeing that episode count has me scratching my head. that's…
this drama truly did not disappoint...in being HORRENDOUSLY AWFUL. i was okay for the most part but amazingly it just got worse the nearer it was to the end and I was starting to lose my shit
