After rewatching, I have a question. Why did LWY have to sacrifice herself and cut off her tail when she was in JL past so even if he tried to self attempt, he wouldn't have died. Or did I just misunderstand the situation?

As much as I want her in modern dramas, I personally think that she resembles someone from ancient china and suits her really well. Is it just me?
