CLASSY TALE OF GIRL ON GIRL CRIME
Probably my favorite K-Drama of all time. The story, the acting, the writing, the music score—everything is perfect! I watched this in 2009, and I think I've rewatched this three times already. I like to thank this drama for existing because I developed my writer's voice watching this. I realized that the protagonist can also be strong and sometimes evil to defeat a higher evil, more intelligent antagonist.Mishil might be the villain, but she unconsciously raised and taught Deokman the proper ways of ruling a kingdom. And for that, she still deserves respect!

ONE OF THE BEST REVENGE DRAMAS IN RECENT YEARS
Makjang is my favorite genre, and this one takes the cake! Sure, it's slow and tough to watch in the first four weeks but that's the magic of it. The FL needs to experience the deepest of hells first before climbing back to the top!I love Jae In and her journey to revenge. There are some plot inconsistencies, of course, but the fast pacing, the acting, and the revenge arc eclipse them.
Love, love this!

I dunno what has gotten into me recently but I found myself revisiting these old K-dramas I've seen in the past on free TV that I haven't watched in full. Boy was it worth my time!
The story is simple. The characters aren't really that complicated but I love the romance! Han Ji Hye and Lee Dong Gun are just so good on screen! In this age, the entire premise might be off but it's their dynamic as a married couple is what I liked the most. It's not iffy, guys. There's no power manipulation or dominance, just cute romance. And I love that. The conflicts are also not that serious, and they get resolved easily.
If anything, I really love the sweetness of the couple; it's so adorable!

Personally, I get it!
I've seen some episodes a decade ago (SHOCKING!) but I never really watched it in full until like a month ago. One of the few Lee Min Ho dramas that I enjoyed. Stereotyping was a little off but it was the 2010s so what can we do? However, I love the chemistry between Son Ye Jin and Lee Min Ho. Also, I love Wang Ji Hye's acting as a bitch. Love to hate her! HAHAHARyu Seung Ryong's character really encapsulated the loneliness of an aging gay. He deserves better, and I love his interactions with Park Kae In. The unexpected friendship that formed between them was wholesome.
Overall, not bad. Just something that I won't rewatch in the future.

Sweetest Taboo indeed!
So glad I discovered this because I love the theme of the story. Messy characters, messy plot, but healthy romantic relationship. Hmm maybe up until episode 19 lolI love how the series tackled so many taboo topics like age gap, strong provocative female, liberal-minded young man, transgender mother, teenage pregnancy, and abortion. I think they handled those topics with care and nuance, especially the abortion thing. I love the rallying of ideas among people with different point of views, cultivated by their own experiences.
Khatha and Lin's relationship was not perfect, but I love how the misunderstandings get resolved quickly. I love the honesty and openness between them despite Lin being a little bit controlling (due to her age) and Khatha having that massive EGO. Tell that to Beyonce, huh!
All things said, the drama could've ended at Episode 19. The last 2 episodes aren't necessary because they just destroyed the beautiful character arcs that the characters have gone through. Additional drama about things that have been resolved already, and for what??
The ending kinda sucked. Like the writers shouldn't have established the relationship between Aim and Khatha. They could've been just friends! So that when Khatha goes back to Lin by the final shot, there would be no cheating. That's why I am lowering my rating.

Finally it's over. Not bad. Not excellent either. The first 30 episodes are great. What a refreshing trope to see again. After Queen's House, where the FL became fierce and strong from being dumb and gullible, I was happy to see something that depicts an anti-hero. However, the story dragged in the middle. The important reveals were too early and from eps. 50-80-ish, the characters simply ran around in circles with the same goal. To take down Jin Tae Seok. Sadly, this bastard was super slippery, and when it was time to finally take him down, his punishment was anticlimactic. Didn't even suffer, just straight up dead.
It was exhausting. But hey, I'm a completist, so I didn't skip a single episode. I love some of the character developments, though. Especially Gong Nan Sook. She's the gold in this show. His scenes with the medium chef are pure comedy! I love it! That's the redeeming factor for me, so I didn't give this a rating below 5.

ONE OF MY TOP FIVE K-DRAMAS!
I was 14 when I watched this, and I was smitten by everything! Han Hyo Joo and Lee Seung Gi's chemistry was the right combination of sweet and warm. I even wrote a fanfiction of this set in Silla (lol it was the same time I watched this with Queen Seondeok. Imagine the power of 2009 K-Dramas!). I designed my lead OCs like Eun Sung and Hwan! Was this review helpful to you?
HA JI WON'S BEST DRAMA
Everything is perfect. Ah! It's so good. The acting, the writing, the costumes, the story, everything. There's a mixture of war, history, romance, women's empowerment, and a bittersweet tragedy. Ha Ji Won really showcased her best acting chops in here. Ji Chang Wook and Jo Jin Moo were actors incarnate! And Baek Jin Hee? Yassss! You may have been the villain of the show but my God! You were so effective as Tanashiri! Was this review helpful to you?
WHO RUN THE PALACE? GIRLS!!!
One of the best sageuks ever! This one is a bit different from the other sageuks I've seen. It has a more tender, gentle side compared to the intense, more war-ridden energy of Jumong and Queen Seondeok. It has the same vibes as Dae Jang Geum, and in a way, the protagonists almost have the same values.
Dong Yi is intelligent, kind-hearted, yet protective and very discerning. Once she discovers something, she never let go. That's why the nickname POONGSAN hahaha. The contrast of her personality makes her character interesting, even though she's not a badass.
Jang Hee Bin, on the other hand, is a worthy opponent of Dong Yi. She's also intelligent, but ambition and greed are something that she never let go. I love how cunty she is and how firm she is with her goals. But of course, there's always a downside for wanting too much.
Queen Inhyun is a great mentor to Dong Yi. I love how supportive she is and how secure her character is. That's peak girl's girl.
Lastly, the chemistry with the king. Actually, Ji Jin Hee and Han Hyo Joo can star in a romcom and I'd watch it. Their banters are so good, they're so obsessed with each other, but there's still restraint and decency coz it's the palace lol.
Overall, I love this. Probably in my top 10 favorite k-dramas.
