Yes it seems that's what happened! They filmed 30 episodes when Youku released a whole psychical book about their upcoming dramas they had 30 episodes written down as well.

I'm not saying it's going to change anything, but people are grieving so the entertainment industry is toning things down for now. I mean even when they won awards each group had a somber look, they didn't jump around, laugh out loud etc like they usually do. And obviously the sole reason Lai Zhan didn't offer any warp up materials is this. Ju Jingyi also hasn't made a single post for days now since the accident.
