Dohoi was angry at his dad after the exam & asked him why he hit juyeong. He grabbed the knive either to harm…
Well, that's a possible interpretation. That might be the actual intention of the screenwriter. Or not. But even if it's really the case, it doesn't change what I thought and wrote. Because they could have chose to make him talk and face things with Ju Yeong instead. And that doesn't justify the stupid "love triangle" wit Hyeon Ho neither, if that's really what they are doing.
We will see next week where it goes, I hope there will be a clever story development that makes up for episode 4, because otherwise it will only be a big disappointment for me after the great start it had.

The first two episodes were very good, the development in episode 3 still interesting, but after episode 4 I have very mixed feelings. Whatever happens after, Do Hoe is just a jerk for ignoring Ju Yeong for so long (I also think a 12 years gap is way too long, it doesn't really makes sense with the way the actors look), and for the way he acts towards him when they reunited. The whole story with his father cannot justify his shitty behaviour for someone he liked and helped him break from his miserable life, and someone that definitely still looks head over heels for him too. That and the seemingly love triangle with Hyeon Ho that is hinted, it doesn't really look good at the end of episode 4 unfortunately. To see how it's developed in the next episodes, next week.

Those are dramas, deeply flawed ones at that.Originality is not necessary at all for a good story. The same stories…
The comparison with dramas isn't important here, even though I disagree that movies and TV series can't be compared. I only added this sentence at the end because I saw "Warrior Baek Dong Soo" and "My Country: The New Age" as recommendations.
As for the originality matter. Your points were that "originality is not necessary at all for a good story". Well, this argument lack consistency and development to be able to debate about that in my opinion. And that "the nobleman is not "evil" in this story, the whole system is.". Again, undeveloped to be an argument we can debate with, at least for me. And same goes with your last message.
I'm not denying your opinion, but for me, for these to be arguments to debate about a point, it's necessary to develop them more. At least that's what I try to do when I answer to a comment I don't agree with. Just stating a short sentence with your opinion isn't argumentative.

This movie is so good ! I watched on a whim, didn't know what to expect at all, and it was such a nice surprise. The overall production is quite good and the acting top quality. Yamazaki Kento is such a great actor. It's a remake, but I haven't seen the originals so I'm not biased by it and for me it was a great watch.

I couldn't disagree more. That's a very simplistic opinion you have for me.
"Anyway, you didn't like it, it wasn't for you. That's fine."
So exactly the same applies to your "Those are dramas, deeply flawed ones at that." statement and any comment that disagree with your opinion if we think like you.
Well, no, not me.
And this way of dismissing others opinions is just very cowardly and unpleasant, because you avoid debate and stand in a very conceited posture, implying that those who didn't like a movie/TV series are at fault, not the production itself.
But good for you if it helps you sleep better at night.

The "more" is often the enemy of the "good". And that's the problem with this film for me. By trying too hard to make a sensationalist film, it becomes excessive, really too much unfortunately. The plot lacked originality anyway I think. The good slave against the evil nobleman, it's really reheated, no originality in the execution either. Too bad.
It's definitely not on the level of "Warrior Baek Dong Soo" and even less of "My Country: The New Age" that is a masterpiece.

It's a nice addition to the main drama. It would have been even better if the episodes were a little bit longer and showed more thoughts and interactions of Yamato with the others. He really is one of my favourite characters of this drama, so adorable. And I really hope Kido Taisei will get more roles in the future, and main ones, because he delivers the emotions so well. He is really shining, he just have such a bright personality and appearance, so cute and warm like a ray of sunshine.

I don't think any character of Chang Wook would ever be sexier than Kim Je Ha fighting naked in the showers in…
Not every comment has to be taken hyper seriously... It was just a funny comment. ;) Of course others can think differently.
It would be nice if you guys could chill a little.

I don't think any character of Chang Wook would ever be sexier than Kim Je Ha fighting naked in the showers in "The K2". This is simply legendary. ^^

So much better than what I expected before starting to watch it. The cast is very good, all of them, and that's definitely much more than just another high school drama. I'm sorry for the people who can't see and understand that it's very deep behind the high school settings. As often, when it comes to dramas and talking about profound subjects but without being too heavy on the story, Japanese do it better,

The production team isn't dumb they are well aware of the fact that the audience won't be exited for a remake…
Okay understood, it's forbidden to express a personal opinion or comment anything about a drama or movie Chang Wook is associated with, unless it is to write it deserves all the praises and that everything he does is perfect.
It became very grim to participate in the comments of any project he is in here...

It will still be a much less original story and character, compared to his previous works, than "Twelve", so it doesn't change my thoughts. And I wrote "if", "doesn't seem", etc. because it's all speculative for the moment, so let's wait to know more about everything before making quick conclusions.

Well it's up to him not us and don't underestimate sculpture city yes it is remake but point is it is drama over…
Please stop giving orders to people in your comments. Or write how they should think, it's really annoying. I have the right to come to the conclusion I want based on the elements I know, and share my thoughts about it here. And you have the right to your opinion too, but here you are not giving an opinion, you're dismissing mine and imposing yours. This aggressive way of writing is really not respectful to others.

Yes, it is. It was mentioned earlier as well.
That's exactly my point. Even if it's a "loose" adaptation with just a similar plot-line, it's lacking originality for me. Let's see in the future when more is shared about this drama, it's still very speculative for the moment.

If it is confirmed that Chang Wook won't play in this, I think it is really his loss this time unfortunately. The only other project we know about right know is "Sculpture City", but compared to "Twelve", it doesn't seem like a very new addition to his career and cinematography, but something he has already done before (if it's confirmed that it's a remake drama of the movie "Fabricated City"). I was looking forward to see him play a new kind of role in a new kind of drama, and along with others great actors too. So it's a double disappointment for me this morning knowing he will not star in this and "Sculpture City"is actually just a remake drama.
