Well well even though there is no defamation of the democracy movement or glamorization of espionage in the drama…
Korea is a country of 50 millions people, even few hundreds thousands petitioners shouldn't have the right to bring down productions like that, especially korean dramas that are aired in Korea, but clearly aimed for a worlwide audience too.

Well said. But the sad thing is that it's the everyday life of Korea since many years. People use internet to attack everything and everybody all the time. It doesn't escalate to big problems all the time, but when you live in Korea, you really feel that there is something wrong with the way people hate anything through internet and start petitions for every little things that a bunch of people dislike.

Bruhhh the drama is fucked idc what yall think but IT IS FUCKED. Anyways here is a thread explaining in detail…
You're a typical exemple of someone who doesn't understand what a fiction is. Or even a adaptation on screen.
Following your arguments, do you know how many films or series, all over the world, should disappear ? Well, pretty much all of them because a film, or a series, can never portray perfectly history. It's always adapted and changed.
So no, those few Koreans (yes, this few people don't represent the majority of Koreans so stop pretend this offend all Korea) have no right to ask explanations or cancelations, and it's sad what's happening right now. I hope it will stop soon because otherwise, they can just stop all productions because there will always be people complaining about anything.

one thing historic dramas gotta start to do is to give women center roles instead of just making them wives and…
First of all, there is a lot, but really a lot, of Korean historical dramas with female main or center character (which is, most of the time, totally not historically accurate). Not that hard to find here...
And also, the point of making an historical drama, is to show, with more or less accuracy, the story of an historical figure or period. And historically, in Korea, women didn't have a center place, they were mostly wives and concubines, so the dramas just try to be historically accurate. They actually give a greater place of women than they actually had, especially in Joseon era.
If you like watching historical dramas you need to accept the reality of this historical period.

Yes exactly, and I really like that about him. People just don't pay attention to what he says and what he want.

You mean all this drama was "absurd"
No, I don't think so. But I understand that some people can think that way.

I think you can because there is a quick reminder of what happened in part 1 at the beginning. And the story is different from what happened in part 1 so I think it's okay. ;)

The latest episode was a little bit absurd, and it was way too short overall, but it was a really nice love story, Chu Young Woo and Won Hyung Hoon were really good. And it's the first Korean drama that I watched showing so much, and in a good way, physical relations between two men.

This movie is actually very good, the rating here really don't do justice to it.
Baek Sung Hyun is really good in it. This movie speaks about many important life topics. If you can understand Korean (don't seem to be available with English subtitles) you should watch it.

The first episodes were okay, and the acting is not the problem in this drama for me, but I didn't like what they did with the story and the relationships between the characters. A lot of people praise it, but on the contrary I think it's really wrong the way they portrayed it.

As for Lovestruck in the City I really liked it a lot. To me it's finally something new and different, and not the usual rom-com. It has a nice aesthetic and realistic vibe, a really nice combo.

Well, actually I'm not in these actors and really disliked "It's okay not to be okay" so I can't say I wish for that haha. I'd really like to see him in a sageuk again or an historical movie. I actually really want him to go to movies, I'm sure he can get great roles there and show all his talent, even if watching him in dramas his a pleasure.

Yes, Warrior Baek Dong Soo was a huge step in his career. And I'm sure you'll be impressed by his role in Empress Ki too when you watch it. All the professionals's and people's critics were very good and, personally, that's the first drama with Ji Chang Wook I watched and how I became a fan.
It's true that it's not easy to start watching a very long sageuk few years after its release, but usually it's worth the time (currently watching a 80 episodes one !). And the good thing with "old" sageuks is that they don't really aged in a bad way, just the quality of the images is a bit off sometimes. ^^

As for his choices, well, I don't think he really compromised with his latest, not so well received, projects because he clearly said in interviews his reasons for his choices (for exemple that he wanted to work with a certain director, or that a character really appealed to him or he really liked the overall script, etc.). But I do hope he can have a commercial success with a drama or a movie in the future, so even more people root for him.

Person Ji Chang Wook
Ji Chang Wook is a great actor. "Lovestruck in the City" perfectly shows it, even if Park Jae Won was indeed a pitiful character (but actually an hopeless romantic guy which I can relate to personally).
For most people, he is just a very handsome and charming man, they always bring out "Healer", "The K2" (in which he was great right !), so of course, they just want him to play "popular" roles. But that's easy. People need to see much wider, and listen to Ji Chang Wook himself as he explained several times that he choose his last dramas especially to try new things, push and improve himself as an actor.
I loved his cool characters too, but I respect and like it even more since he decided to play much more difficult characters, making him less confortable and less likable kind of. He nailed it every time, even if the drama was a flop. As much as I liked him in charismatic roles, I'm not even hoping for that in the future. I hope he takes more role in movies. I'm sure it will make become one of the most recognized Korean actor for his talent, maybe even internationally if he choose a movie that goes in foreign festivals.
