This is a series that was also broadcast on Thai television. When I saw the promos, it felt so dated, and I assumed the plot would be cliché as well. And it really was a classic trope. A story about an arranged marriage set in the 11th year of the Showa era, right before World War II. Surprisingly, though, the editing and performances hooked me right from the very first episode, and I eagerly looked forward to watching it all the way to the end. It was also the show that sparked my interest in exploring other Japanese dramas.

I loved every single element of it—from the narration sprinkled with funny jokes, like during the moments when Takimasa (ml) did something goofy, to the warm gatherings of Natsuki's family. I really liked Mrs. Shibahara, who took care of the fl, taught her, and shared stories of her own married life. I adored all the cute and humorous romantic scenes between the main couple. The actors executed them brilliantly, because if those moments hadn't been balanced just right, they could have easily fallen flat.

Credit must also go to the director for making the show so charming, as well as to the great casting. The male lead is very handsome and captured attention right away, while the female lead is cute, petite, and delivered affectionate, adorable moments naturally without any awkwardness. The second lead couple was just as impressive—they almost stole the spotlight from the main leads, displaying incredible visual and acting chemistry together.
