Isn’t MyDramaList primarily a website for dramas and movies? I’m just curious why this type of news would be posted here since she has zero involvement in the drama/film industry?
I can’t believe she messed up this opportunity. This was probably her breakout role and she even had an upcoming drama with Lee Ji-hoon that was apparently halfway filmed. I don’t know what will happen with it but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it gets cancelled.
Also, you guys have a concerning habit of watering down every issue raised by Korean citizens. She wasn’t simply criticized for being related by blood to a pro-Japanese figure. She repeatedly talked about her wealthy family background, being from a four-generation family of doctors, having five fridges, her grandmother studying fine arts in Norway, etc. while her team apparently tried to deny her great-grandfather’s involvement with pro-Japanese organizations.
And considering the historical context, including the allegations surrounding her great-grandfather and King Gojong’s poisoning, I can understand why Koreans find this particularly insensitive. Descendants of people who fought for independence can still struggle financially today, so publicly flaunting wealth while coming from a family with that history is obviously going to strike a nerve.
You can absolutely argue that she’s being punished too harshly compared to others but this isn’t simply a men vs. women issue, and she isn’t completely free of accountability either. There are just so many layers to this and the whole thing comes across as incredibly tone-deaf.
It snowballed to the point where her entire family lineage was exposed, her father had to give an interview to apologize, and people were even calling for the descendant’s assets to be seized. The fact that this happened so close to South Korea’s Independence Day on August 15 is only fueling the anger even further.
Uh oh ... MS is such a manipulative slithery snake liar and backstabber... no loyalty... no love... JUST LIKE…
the woman is the one who made the threat, sent the text message to the husband. She works at the clinic and she saw the husband and SJ together then she filmed them
She gets more screen time in the second episode and since they've already set up her arc I think she'll have a bigger presence in the upcoming episodes
