I came in with quite high expectations because it created a lot of buzz last 2019. And honestly, it did not disappoint. The story follows the "gay guy falls for straight best friend" trope. From this description alone, you already know what you're in for. It's a great story about love and friendship and everything in between. It will pull at your heartstrings.
Story:
This is what I liked the most along with their production. It was so well made and realistic, it showed the push and pull of the main characters so well. It's great how you can see and feel all the film references they make. One of the things I liked about this series is that it actually incorporates their college majors into the plot, since other BL series just mention their majors in passing and it seems like they have all the time in the world to flirt.
The buildup was magnificent. It was not rushed AT ALL. They really gave us a chance to explore the characters and understand them. Even the side couples had a fresh storyline. Not just romance, but they also showed, in my opinion, real and believable friendships. Though there are still lots of BL cliches incorporated in this series, they still managed to make it so unique and so heartwarming.
Acting/Production:
Hats off to all the actors especially Gun. His expressions make you know what he is going through. It just gets you glued to the screen.
The production is on another level. It didn't feel cheap at all. The fact that this is a love story referencing other romantic films made the show feel hyper aware of itself and so much deeper.
Music:
The intro (which is also the overall OST) is my favorite. It makes you feel everything. It makes you feel alive.
