Re-watcher here and I must say, I really love the contrast. She loved them both but with the 2ML she was very calculated, always trying and doing her best to be the perfect girlfriend and that's why I think the 2ML felt suffocating. However, with the ML she couldn't do any of that because they were friends first, he'd seen her at her worst, so she had no need to put up a front. And I'm loving that he loves that part of her
