i think the the second trailer that came out today finally helped me understand what the show is about and how their relationship will start.

i got so attached to the characters over the past 2 weeks that i came home waiting for a new episode 😭😭😭 but now all i can do is just rewatch my favourite moments

i feel like all i can ever say to luan nian is YOU FOOL!!!

Even though he’d learnt from his mistakes and improved this episode, I think soon enough he’ll go back to his old ways. Then with everything that will happen in taotaos life she’ll reach a breaking point and that’s when the break up will happen.

Today was such a rom com episode it might have been the happiest episode we’ve seen so far. Tomorrow will be hell though 🫩

The ‘boss and subordinate’ relationship just adds a whole another difficult element to it 😫 luan nian has this often rigid thinking and talking style that can work well in corporate settings but leads to so much strain when it spills over into their personal relationship. He’ll learn to adapt eventually but the next few episodes are going to be so painful. Although It’s nice that they’ve kind of tried to break this barrier by calling each other by their actual names more often than their English work names.

Totally! So they can’t confidently say what they truthfully want to each other (especially Luan Nian) until it’s too late.

this episode really made me see that the biggest flaw in their relationship has been their inability to be vulnerable with each other. without a couple feeling safe enough to confide and be vulnerable, a relationship is bound to crumble.

in the office scene when she called him luan nian and not luke even though they were at work omg 😭😭😭 in that moment she needed her boyfriend not her boss omg stupid stupid luan nian you fool 😭😭😭

yh without them giving a good context of when in the timeline they had this conversation it makes it more difficult to know what rumours she's referring to. my initial assumption was that they talked before she went away for the business trip but it could also be after she returned from it.

kinda excited to see Liu Chang on my screen again, i haven't had the chance to watch anything with him in it since The King's Woman.

pretty sure she was referring to the rumours of the company trying to prevent and sabotage Luan Nians chances of being promoted to General Manager by specifically hiring Dony to block him from this promotion. Lumi talked about how they both have very similar qualifications too. You could see the tension get weird when Dony walked in so people in the office have started gossiping whether luan nian won't be promoted, and Dony will be instead.

The ending scene in ep16 when taotao brings up these rumours sets up the beginning for the corporate conflict that Dony's arrival will bring in the upcoming episodes. The scene also highlights taotaos worries that this promotion sabotage will upset him which is why he's telling her to ignore it because he doesn't want her to worry, overthink and be upset about it since he's probably going to try his best to keep the situation under his control.

i doubt there's any rumours about their personal relationship this early on, only tracy and Lumi actually know.

I can understand and empathise with both sides everything is just becoming more emotionally complicated. A few episodes ago i was like why are they dragging getting to the break up already, but now i see the production team were trying to make sure the break up would be just as painful to the viewers as it was for the characters 😭😭

ep15 was so sweet i think i might explode watching ep16 tomorrow 😭😭😭

Based on some things from the novel and what we've seen so far i imagine something about his commitment issues or even some situations related to work may have caused some more misunderstandings. But after the scene in todays episode where she's very happy to move back in with her flatmates and his very apparent disappointment when she turned down his offer to live together after she heard him say 'it wasnt the right time yet' for him to introduce her to his parent. I saw someone else say that by the end of the relationship luan nian still felt like taotao never truly had a space for him in her heart even after 6 years. I kinda get that because she's surrounded by so many people that love her and give her love so easily but he only really has her and his mum so i guess from this point on he'll feel more and more like she'll never prioritise him/their relationship the same way he prioritises her. Almost like he's scared of being abandoned by her.

This just feels so complicated and these damn happy scenes make me so attached to them i think i might cry the whole day when they break up.

you know what maybe it's not a bad thing, it means the angst and pain will hit even harder!

i feel like we've been spoiled with too many happy moments now i'm starting to get a little scared for the break-up

like wth is wrong with this show why am i waking up an extra hour before work just to watch it!!
