"Hope" is the most expensive Korean film ever made. It's likely to need around 8 million ticket sales to break even. It has the most theaters opening (2,424) so far, so it's not surprising it reached over 1 million quickly. However, it may not have the same appeal or staying power as "The King's Warden."As a fan of K-cinema, I hope it breaks even and more. I would love to see a chance for a trilogy.
sorry! And sadly, he's an A- or S-list actor while GYJ is definitely not.
Agree! LBH is one of the best in Chungmuro. Unlike her reputation in dramaland, she is a nobody in the film industry. This works in her favor if she wants to be known in the film industry. I'm not a fan of LBH, there are many talents in films to root for, but his personal life is his business.
Main thing i get from this series is SEK should act more and get more chance as lead actor. She really good.
She is a beloved child actor and the best of her generation. She is well regarded in films and dramas. She has accomplished a lot in her young career and she is slowly coming back after working in Japan.
Love to see Ha Jung Woo portraying the military dictator Chun. He is just as compelling in villain roles. This will be his 7th or 8th movie with director Yoon.
Here is how "Blades of The Guardians" is faring, this far: https://mydramalist.com/767811-blades-of-the-guardians#comment-25208004
@Xiang83, Thank you! I'm rooting hard for it to break even and more. "Blades Of The Guardians" RT ratings at (94%). I can't wait to watch it. "The King's Warden" increases it's theater count to 2142. It started with 1724. I hope it has the legs to carry it to 10 million. Finger's crossed.
Happy Belated International Women's Day to you!
