Who is FL's father ? Why would his identity create an issue to main leads ?
Someone already explained the characters in one of the discussion board.

Why is she so fixated on buthering pigs😭😭That's not your status, your parents were generals ffs 😂😂Novel…
I didn’t read the novel, but she doesn’t know her origins yet. She still thinks that she’s the daughter of a butcher — that is why she’s fixated on butchering pigs.

As for when she becomes a general, I believe in one of the trailer, her godfather/Grand Tutor Tao proposes a question to her and I believe that after that question, she becomes a general just because in another trailer she went to help Li Wenkan/Huai’an with her squad and she also went to where General He was at AND that’s when I believe she learned of her origin (General He told Xie Zheng that he can only reveal her father’s identity when he knows that both sisters are alive and to her only.)

I get the writers are being creative but unless all the swords have had first blood before its last fire - then…
He explained to the guy who was with him that he read about it. Even though he was kept underground, his mother made sure that he was literate and when he was staying at the villa in Baixia, Qi Min, made him do homework. So it’s not unbelievable that he knows about it.

okay i’m all for a female empowerment drama but when the FL who has no formal training aside from what her father…
I think it’s common knowledge that she’s strong. When I watched that scene, I didn’t think she beat him because she was a good fighter, but because she used her strength. She is also smart. She saw her opportunity and took it. She used her surroundings to disabled him. She jumped on a log that caused a burning wood to fly towards, hurting his eye. That gave her the opportunity to strike.

I don’t know but ep 27 didn’t give me the satisfaction that I was hoping for. That confrontation scene didn’t do much for me. The previews looked a lot bette than the actual scene.

The reveal that Grand Tutor Tao and his half-disciple FCY were talking about the same person wasn’t as funny as I would like as well. I mean, they gave us plenty of comedic relief, but I would definitely like it if the reveal was done differently.

Two things that I love about ep 27 are:
1. When the Marquis asks her for her hand in marriage. This shows how much he loves her as a person and his willingness to give up his title for her. Her rejection speaks volume to how much she loves him. To me, it shows that she doesn’t want to be the one to hold him from greatness. I know that she will be become someone worthy of him, but as of right now, after finding out about his real identity, she feels inferior to him. How can a butcher from a small village make the great Marquis of Wu’an her matrilocal husband?

2. I loved the scene at the waterfall. That scene, outside of the war and who he is, is just them as a couple. They love each other and it shows. The combat scene also shows how “in sync” they are with each other. For the first time since the war, it is just FCY and YZ — like it was at Lin’An town.

I can’t wait to see both his and FCY’s reaction to finding out that they were talking about the same person. Lol.

I rewatched ep 26 and I noticed that the Pig Butcher Squad can fight on their own. We give FCY a lot of credit, but I think we forget that the Pig Butcher Squad as a whole is just as amazing.

Yes, I agree with you. I think some are forgetting that YZ married into her family as a matrilocal husband.

The discussions and reactions today are pretty mixed, so here are my thoughts on episode 26.I think there are…
The only thing that I want to add is that she saw how badly injured he was. In her mind, she needed to keep him safe so taking his place was her only choice. She knew what it meant to be a deserter — she learned that when she first met him at the camp. So, to her, by taking his place, he was not deserting the army and she can still keep him safe from the front lines.

Just the beginning of ep 26 made me feel so bad for his generals yet laugh so hard at the flurry of activity.…
That scene was so chaotic. The fake Marquis was really sweating because the whole script changed on him and the other generals were like, "we cannot make the princess get on her knees, someone come help us," and as of queue, Counselor Gongsun walks in. I laughed so hard because everyone was just trying to help her because she was their ladyship.

That battle scene of FCY fighting against Shi Hu or Shi He was epic. The cinematography on that scene was phenomenal. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of cinematic scenes, but that battle on the battlefield was beautifully shot. It shows how great of a general FCY can be. She singlehandedly defeated the enemy with just her butcher knives, winning the battle.

Ok, so either Jin Yuanbao likes Chang Yu or is feeding info to the enemy (maybe both) but he's acting very sus
It’s more like admiration for her. Remember that she beat him more than once. I don’t think it’s a crush, more like fangirling over her.

i will say i was a little disappointed by how xie zheng didnt beat up prince yuan qing to the extent that i would…
I agree! He almost beat up that Guo guy or the other butcher guy for drugging CY and only stopped when she told him to stop but he didn’t do the same to the psychopath prince. But then again, it’s understandable why he didn’t. I mean, I guess he needed the prince alive.

However, I am satisfied with all of the slapping that he removed from CY before so I guess it makes up for it.

As I wait for the eps to release, I am rewatching some of the episodes and I am not going to lie, Madam Song’s death was somewhat satisfying. She’s just an overall bully who took advantage of the Fan family’s kindness so her death was karma.

Granny Kang’s death, to me, was sad. I feel that she redeemed herself and she died protecting her grandson and Chang Ning. The magistrate’s daughter’s death was also sad. She died protecting Chang Yu.

Everyone else in Lin’an’s death was so unnecessary and painful. All because of a psychopath prince.

Whenever I see Deng Kai on screen being a crazy psychopath, I keep thinking that Ding Yu Xi can play a villain and look as handsome and crazy as Deng Kai — since they look similar.

How does she still not understand that he has a way higher position than being just a being a normal soldier?…
It’s mostly because she doesn’t know that he is the Marquis of Wu’an. From the previews, she won’t find out until later on. At this point of time, she only knows that he’s in the army. Remember that even the other soldiers don’t know how the Marquis of Wu’an looks like.

You need to also take into account that her parents didn’t take her out from Lin’an town. She spends her entire life “sheltered”. And I believe, she’s also somewhat illiterate, so I wouldn’t expect her to know much.

As a Season 1 enthusiast, I didn't like Season 2.They "idol-fied" the drama too much. The ML turned into…
I agree. The charm from season 1 is missing and it’s really disappointing because it’s the same director, screenwriter and everything. It almost felt like a new crew has taken over.

As for the ML being all smiley, I’m okay with that but I do miss his aloofness. I wished he would only smile like that for the FL lead.

As for the FL, I really hate that she became a regular noblewoman. I wished they kept her quirkiness and “country bumpkin” charm. To me, that was why the ML fell in love with her in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, i understand that it’s been three years and she is now the Commandry Princess Consort, but I wished they kept her charm. I feel like we only saw that side of her when her brother is around.

As for the villains, it was too obvious that it was the second Prince. I wished they made it more mysterious especially since they kept talking about the “Peacock”. If they were going to make it so obvious, then follow S1’s villain.

The rating on this one was low for me too. 6-6.5 at best.

Just finished up to ep 24, and I am going to just say this. As much as I loved Commandery Prince An, Chu Chu, Vice Minister Jing Yi, and Leng Yue — I feel like season 2 lacks the charm that season 1 holds. I was a little disappointed because I really loved season 1 and I had high hope for season 2.

Don’t get me wrong, I like season 2
 it just didn’t wow me.

I wanted more mystery. I wanted more guessing.

Right off the bat, I already knew that there was something off about the Second Prince. He was super fishy and everyone was already guessing that he was Peacock.

I wasn’t surprised when it turns out that he is peacock.

I guess I’ll go back and watch season 1 again after I finish season 2. Need to get my 4 musketeers fix.

King of Nanzhao: How's the Peacock operation progressing?Guard of Nanzhao's Eldest Prince: Peacock has taken over…
I agree with you. I am suspicious of him my self. I came here to say the same thing. After seeing him, I thought he is Peacock. But like others have said, it’s too soon to say, even though he’s oddly suspicious.

I completely understand that people don't like ZX, that's your right, and given his behavior, it's understandable…
I agree. I don't necessarily hate him, I just feel bad for him. I feel that because of his family situation vs hers, he feels inferior to her and therefore, thought that he can clear up any misunderstandings between them when they're both in Shanghai because by then, he should be able to stand by her as an "equal." But he lost that chance.

He reminds me of her father — they both feel inferior to the women that they "love."

The true villain (in my eyes) is Ye Rong. She knew how Zhuang Xu feels about her, but she thinks that he will always pick her. Of course, he feels obligated too because of his mom, but she was just bad. She was the one who lied to Xiguang from the start.

I have read that if she stayed with Zhuang Xu, she'll end up like her mother, and I agree with that.
