Just finished this show. I've never watched the Thai version or read the novel so I have nothing to compare it…
I'm confused about the scar though? They did acknowledge that it disappeared, but never explained it. Did he just draw it on with a marker or something?
Just finished this show. I've never watched the Thai version or read the novel so I have nothing to compare it to, but I genuinely enjoyed it a lot! Although I can see why people didn't like it. I feel like I should be mad at this show for some reason (like a bunch of unanswered questions about the plot), but surprisingly I'm not mad at this show.
i remember watching 1-2 minutes of the first episode and hating the quality of it just from those 2 minutes alone. thank god i didn't watch any further because these reviews are sending me ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ like i can't remember the last time i saw a BL with a rating this low
as someone who wants everything to be gay i think they should've found a way for jieun and jihoon to somehow split…
ok but on a more serious note, this show pissed me off.
- i only watched it for chuu. i love chuu so i think sometimes i refused to see her as her character, but i think if anyone else played minju i would've despised her a lot more.
- i hated yoonjae because he never stood on business and told minju to fuck off (like i get you're working on a project with her and probably don't wanna be mean to her but DUDE you have a girlfriend can you at least act like it??).
- everything about the side characters and their love triangle bored me to death.
- i was kind of joking in my first comment, but honestly i would've preferred if yoonjae actually kissed jihoon as a man. like i get that he's straight and didn't sign up for his girlfriend to transform into a man every now and then, but i just think it would've been so much more romantic if yoonjae proved he could be intimate with his lover no matter if it was jieun or jihoon 🤷
as someone who wants everything to be gay i think they should've found a way for jieun and jihoon to somehow split into 2 separate people and pair sanha with the boy and chuu with the girl idk
the writers: hey what if we remade secret relationships but worse
Spoiler for both shows:
This show is similar to SR in the way that both shows have 3 love interests, 1 of them being a green flag who's always kind and respectful of the main character, and 1 being a red flag who's known the main character for a long time and is unnecessarily toxic and possessive of them because of that. (and then one more love interest that nobody's really rooting for). But they differ in who the main character actually ends up with between those two.
I watched PT because I loved SR and thought it would be similar but I was just really disappointed and only stuck around until the end just for the sake of saying I completed it.
this seems to be an unpopular opinion, but i actually liked that they stopped focusing on the list halfway through.
watching the first half, the entire series seemed like it was going to be: "there's 10 things on the list, so in episodes 2-11, they do one thing on the list per episode, and then the finale." i didn't hate the episodes in the first half, but i started to ask "is this all the series is?"
focusing less on the list not only made the series a little less monotonous, but actually allowed them to focus on issues in their relationship (one of those issues literally being whether or not their relationship would continue once the list was done).
not to say that this was a perfect series. i wasn't the biggest fan of the conflict or character development (or lack thereof), and i do think the series dragged on a little too long for what it had to offer. but i think this was still a decent watch that needed a change halfway through to not feel as repetitive.
