at least taejo accepted needing to atone and that it is not just gi beom or sun yong he should feel guilty toward . sure, he's one of the more sympathetic character but he is far from he most pitiful . it's been insanse to see how easily viewers excuse his actions as if the conscious choices he made are minor . for one, he was police detective who committed obstruction of justice by allowing the concealment of a body. that is a CRIME and would have legal ramifications if the statute hadn't ended. but people have been too gripped by the family drama and rather call the sister a b word than realise how he failed in upholding the law when it mattered which led to too many people suffering
also of course lil sis is now a full fledged evil and elf absorbed cha herself. she annoyed me from the start , i do get some of her feelings toward taejoo because he could be overbearing with her, not listen to her etc and basically boss her about. but the nerve of her to ask her brother what she did, all to "protect" her grown 30 plus year olds close relatioship with his uncle si yeong. what a horrible person shes become .
oh wow the cha clan go the better of him AGAIN. taejoo is entirely to blame for his own predicament, yes, he lost everyone but thats literally because of his own actions. kept making dumb decisions, didn't communicatte properly creating misunderstandings, was fooled by siyeong multiple times, threw seokman to the wolves for no reason, gave up looking for the real culprit, and cut communication with his sister for 30years because that corrupt old man said so. the cha clan have never kept their promises to him so why did he choose to be self righteous , keep his word and skip town on their say so? so frustrating.
the sister is beyond reproach, if we are honest she never had a loyal bone in her thumb, even before gi beom was hauled in as a suspect there was obvious tension between her and taejoo. she was always too eager to make him out to be a the "bad guy", which really makes no sense when he was the one raising her while their deadbeat mom was off seducing the village men.
Not suprised at culprit reveal in ep 7 and if i'm honest i didn't feel sad about the death in the ep. I felt it was too convenient for him to die moments after connecting the dots. Who i feel sad for is the young man who'll end up taking the fall and have his live stolen due to inept investigation methods, corruption and reliance on faulty evidence (hair analysis is junk forensics). show is doing a good job highlighting the systemic issues that result in false convictions of innocent people.
