i just started this but it starts off a bit slow for my liking… around what ep does the plot pick up?? help a girl out 😭

maybe my trauma response is more rational compared to her more emotional trauma response so i can't seem to wrap my head around her reasoning. all i see is her mother just dumping another trauma onto her but if she likes that then 🤷‍♀️

her tenacity is something i admire, hence i'm still watching this even tho i can't fully agree nor empathize with her actions. i just feel like she can be a bit contradicting. in an earlier episode, she told chai jing that she sees her as a family - proof that it's possible for her to find that tie in someone who is her blood relation. and so far we've seen her fight back and take revenge to those who wronged her. in a way, her mother wronged her, why isn't she giving the woman the same attitude? again, just the blood ties? for me, it's not enough. even her father does not receive the same treatment from her. i know her mother has her own pain but that really doesn't justify how she treated the FL. i'm not convinced she doesn't know about how FL was being treated all those years. she has all the means to send FL far away using marriage, i think if she tried hard enough, she could have "protected" FL better. it's just FL isn't her priority as much as FL prioritizes her

that's what i don't understand and don't feel good about. maybe it's a personal thing but no matter if it's out of love, all her years of neglect and suffering can't just be justified like that? it feels like she's invalidating her own experiences. wtvr the mom went through, "love" isn't supposed to be like that. it all just sounds like excuses to me, and the FL is letting her mom get away with it. she deserves a better home than this. even the bandit girl treated her better than her own mother

u get me. maybe i can't relate with her obsession to save mummy dearest bc i have a complicated relationship with my own mother. but i personally don't feel like her months of knowing this mother (and not in a good way) is not enough to warrant this level of obsession. maybe it's the idea of a mother and all those things she heard about her mother while she was growing up that she's obsessed with? wtvr it is, i don't vibe with it. is she too fickle? one barely there moment of warmth and she goes straight into the warzone. if she wants a home, she can make one herself, she don't even need all these ppl who are plotting against her and she's equally retaliating against. what kind of home is that 😭

i really don't get FL's obsession with saving this toxic af family. no one ever did anything for her so what's the justification? blood relationship? hah is this how ancient people think? maybe I'd really die if i were in that era

ah thank god.. hope she gains a bit of weight back.. her weight here is truly unhealthy even for someone who is naturally skinny 😭 she's so pretty, I'd love to see her looking prettier and healthier

i just caught up and i now get why some comments are saying she's too thin 😭 is this her natural build? I've never watched her dramas before. it's kinda scary how skinny she is. that scene in ep10 feels like her head is floating 😭😭

the only thing i don't like is how ranran/qingge is too nice, too considerate and too forgiving. She let that bitch mu ranwu off too many times grrr. i hope we can get a gray-ish fl in a good drama next time.

this is so beautifully said! i usually don't like amnesia arcs too bc it's often overused and unnecessary but this time, it is necessary. there were so many things from their past that inhibits them but the amnesia arc somewhat gave them a chance to start fresh (although it was a rocky start).

novel amnesia arc was maddening but seeing deng wei, I'm not mad at shifu anymore. seeing deng wei act spoiled is such a sight hahahahhaa
