I saw a lot of people being upset at Yumi's lack of growth. In this season I think that it was more about Yumi…
I wouldn't say she is high maintenance exactly. Just completely unrealistic. People - including those in secure relationships - will think of other people as attractive all the time (at least they will if they have a functioning libido) but their partners don't know about those thoughts. And unless you act on them you haven't done anything 'wrong'.
idk why people keep asking this in the TCs. The fact that he wants to be alone does not mean that he has stopped…
I'm not judging the ML at this point, either. If you found out your - relatively new - squeeze was indirectly responsible for your Mum's death, potentially could have prevented it (but didn't) and couldn't/wouldn't explain why, a rational person would be pissed off too.
Ppl are complaining that it’s getting boring and stuff but I’m so curious about what will happened next
Me too. I love how Seulbi acts like a gown-up with Mi joon ( I wish she would otherwise, it suits the actress so much more). And I like how virtually all the characters are complex/nuanced (including the people who started off as baddies). And I'm not judging the ML at this point, either. Reading this page of comments makes me unsurprised that so many people here are (and probably will forever remain) single. Policing thoughts are what dictatorships try - and fail - to do. Trust me, every single adult with a functioning brain cell, and libido (drops knitting) will be challenged sometimes and what separates us is how we choose to behave in the face of that.
I'm totally confused about this as well. I thought they said earlier on that the women just suddenly become pregnant…
The meeting with the soldier was (I think) meant to be in around 1945, so either Seulbi's grandma (the one who took the bullet fired by Seulbi's mum) has the world's best skincare routine or she's semi immortal or the woman whom the soldier saved was Seulbi's great grandma). See also Minjoon's mad old grandad - if he was 20 in 1945 he'd be nearly 100/long dead by now.
I don't think this would be in the category of sweet and comforting, it's full of dark themes and uncomfortable…
I can't help thinking that if she looked 20/21 (the character's age) the '9 year old after too many red sweets' schtick would work better. Plus, if she's eventually going to do the nasty with the ML is would be better if she didn't appear to have the mental capacity of a child.
A pleasant way to while away the TV time. The weakest part was the main couple - they were too twee and childish to really float my boat and had little chemistry - but it was made enjoyable by many of the side characters and their little arcs.
lol everybody is talking about FL. Actually I dont find it surprising when Oh Yeon Seo (the actress) will play…
I loved her in MFEO. I even liked her in the one where she was the Korean version of 'sassy' (i.e. a violent drunk). Once I'd got through 2 episodes of vomiting, passing out and fake sexual assault accusations, that is. She'll probably calm down, eventually, in this one. And I don't think she looks 'old' but its a bit like the FL in Jinxed at First - don't make a plot device of someone being young/younger if they - quite obviously - don't look it. Its like casting a short person in a drama and then everyone around them constantly banging on about how tall they are.
I suspect - and hope - that the FL will become less of an annoying tick after macking, fully onto the ML.
But you can't have it both ways, people. You can't screech for romance (however pointless/unnecessary ) while not having to swallow the tedious, misogynistic tropes that kdramas invariably drag in the wake of romance.
The FL will have to be dumb as a box of hair. She will have to be drunken and/or violent. She will have to fall over at least once. There will be an umbrella scene. She will pout and sulk and behave like someone with BPD and NPD.
Personally, I prefer no romance (unless it's done well and convincingly) but be careful what you wish for.
pretty annoyed at the FL , hate how kdrama justify violence from woman to man like wtf, and the FL writing is…
Apparently its 'cute' when a woman slaps, hits or kicks a man without reason. Happens in lots of kdramas (along with the drunk-to-the-point-of-passing-out and going home with a strange man thing). I thought I'd get used to it but it still makes me cringe each time.
I thought she was dreadful in SIMTA (but then her character was written like a loon and the whole story was pretty unhealthy) but I quite liked her (acting, if not character) in Run On. She's better in non-romance roles, I think.
I'm not harder on women. I can list the male actors who I think are wholly/mostly crap if you like. I just mentioned Song Hye Kyo because she's a particularly egregious example of poor acting - she literally has the same, dead face whichever emotion she's expressing - and because the one who relentlessly screeches 'hater' mentioned her first.
The summary is slightly misleading. They made too big a deal of things that get resolved pretty fast and don't…
Given the actress looks her age (30), irrespective of her character's age, I think it was a mistake to make a big thing about her being 'younger' than a man who looks pretty young. They they compounded that by pretending in the first episode that she looked like a child - all that "Where's your Mummy?" stuff. Apparently in the original story she first met him when she was 13 and the then again at 21(?) so it looks like the writers/casting people of the drama didn't account for the change. Its not a massive deal - I'm still mostly enjoying it - but it was a bit of nonsense that they could have sidestepped.
