Rather than redemption, am expecting a tragic ending for SeYoung. Despite JiSeok telling her to let go and form her own identity that is outside of her mom, it is decades late. The girl has been a puppet all her life and desperately wants to trust MyeongJi. If she has to accept the true face of MyeongJi, then she also has to accept that she has been an accomplice and is perhaps the cause of all this mess. As it is, the guilt of losing YuJin at sea gave her nightmares and anxities for years. Now, to realize the weight of death of YuJin would be too heavy a burden to bear. MyeongJi is not going to admit that it was all greed and it was for Hyesung group. Instead, she will turn it around and put the blame on SeYoung. MyeongJi will realize too late the pain of losing a child and wondering what happened. Jail or bankruptcy will only fuel her anger as her entitlement is very high. So losing SeYoung will be the only thing that hurts. The question is how that happens. Will SeYoung lose her memories to protect herself? Have some fatal disease? Have an accident? Fall into a coma? Or die tragically?
Point 3:Myeongji was in cahoots with the Accounts Director to embezzle from Hyesung. They were shown meeting to…
YeoJin and Secretary Jang seem quite meticulous when it came to business. So my theory is that they were stealing from some of the proceeds of the corporate raids which would not have shown up on the main books. This way, there would have been no accounting and no one would know if a little was missing here and there.
Here is my bold theory -- JiSeok will not get paired with SeYoung in the end. Instead, she will end up alone and friendless and having to figure out life without her mother to explain things. Why? 1. I watched the writer's previous drama -- there were reconciliations and redemptions that did not happen. Instead, some characters remained estranged which was surprising. So this writer does not necessarily do full on happy happy for everyone 2. EunCheong is the heart of the drama. For him to have a happy ending, he needs all his uncles, aunts plus grandparents. So both families have to be reconciled and there has to be peace. In order for that to happen, YeoJin has to be innocent of the crime of killing the Goo parents. 3. That leaves MyeongJi to be the real hand behind that accident. She never worked in the company and yet she has managed to create slush funds? So how was she doing it?
Question, unrelated to this drama:If you found out the ending to a drama that you are about halfway or so through…
Watch the last episode to see if it feels off and then decide if it is worth the time to finish the series. That is usually what I do if I have read about the ending.
JiSeok-SangHo's scenes were so well done. What I liked is how SangHo turns in tears and does not shy away from letting JiSeok see that he is in pain from YeoJin being sick. There is an openness between the two men because they have really developed father-son relationship. JiSeok understandably feels betrayed and it is like he is losing his parent yet again. However, MyeongJi stirring the pot will make JiSeok realize quickly how important SangHo is to him. In the end, JiSeok needs parental love and not a romantic arc -- so his happy ending will be reconciliation with SangHo
It was kind of long and so rather than comment, posted my thought on ep 68 in discussion. Check it out on why I thought it was a lovely episode ultimately about siblings
JinGoo is the worst ML. The guy backstabs Hana, continues to put Hana where she is being blamed for breaking his engagement and he has the gall to profess his love and say he wants to marry her. Dude, why would she be interested in you? You deserve to burn in misery. He is also being played by a terrible actor and his only expression seems to be of constipation. 🤦♀️
Excited for this one. It would be fun to see a romance of 40s something characters. Hopefully we will get good writing and fully fleshed out characterization. Too bad that Lee Pil Mo's character will not be around for much of the drama. Feels like I haven't seen him in dramas in ages.
After ep12 I wonder if Yuanta will change ever? How can someone be this shameless? She's annoying the shit out…
I do not think yuanta will change unless she takes a hard look at herself and is willing to take accountability for her behaviour. However, she is always blaming others for abandoning her and not loving her. The more obnoxious she gets, the more she pushes away people -- and she is getting angry at the rejection. There have been some lakorns where such characters finally change but basically it happens when they are left all alone and have run out of people to blame for the unhappiness they are in.
Gemma is getting so lame and it just doesn’t make sense for her to cause a rift between the brothers and infuriate…
Gemma is a horrible and terrible female lead. I am rooting for her to fall in a spectacular fashion -- she has no business breaking the hearts of unrelated people in her quest for revenge. She is just mean and vindictive. She has no business accusing Hee Kyung of abandonment and backstabbing when she is doing the exact same thing to those around her. This is a case of pot calling the kettle black.
"we sincerely hope you are sharing your love with your loved ones" -- was the ending message on screen instead of "thank you for watching"... awww, this was a drama that was written from the heart.
