i am so totally impressed with HJ actor in the last several episodes, going through the emotional meltdown discovering…
His arc has lot more story than a typical second lead who is obsessed with the female lead. Whether or not he ends up with Chloe is besides the point.
Instead, his arc is about how to make peace with his identity and figure out who he is by himself without the baggage of the crimes of his parents. It is about learning how to hold your head up and not be bogged by shame.
The actor is doing a great job showing the emotional turmoil, the loneliness, the confusion, not knowing who to turn to, where to go to.
i was thinking - it doesnt cross her mind JR will just KILL her.... ???
She thinks that Jung Ran is a joke because of how she acts. She does not realize that Jung Ran was the muscle to the chairman and has always gone beyond to do his dirty works. YuNa thinks only chairman and Min Jun are the threat. Shes mistakenly assumes HyunJun and Jung Ran are easy puppets for her to push around.
Some really good acting from the actor playing HyunJun as he uncovers yet another secret. He is holding my interest to keep checking in with the drama to see how it will go.
Unpopular opinion but I think Chloe made the right choice to get married to HyunJun. She is not in a frame of mind for romance. Till she sets things right, she cannot move on with her life.
MinJun is like his mom and utterly useless when it comes to revenge. He would have just stood in her way and said revenge is too dangerous. Like DanHee, she would have been then stuck barely inching and waiting for 30 years to do anything. He thinks he knows her but he does not realize that Chloe long ago gave up on being sweet JinJu. She would have not risen to the top as a brand consultant if she wasn't tough and knows what she wants.
HyunJun on the other hand knows the pitfalls of revenge and is okay with it. He hears what she is saying and gives her the room to speak without shutting her down. She does not try to sugarcoat or convince him. He will stand by her side if that is what she wants even if it means he will get hurt.
So at this time, she needs a reliable ally and MinJun is not it. Maybe in the end of the drama, she will get back together with MinJun or maybe she will go alone or she will go with HyunJun.
So Dumb, why not marry her true love & together take over the company, why such a long road with this fake…
HyunJun is a better ally when it comes to revenge. If she chose MinJun, she might as well say bbye bye to revenge or wait for 30 years because he will keep getting in her way.
Did that marriage deal include aerobics? The one that Chloe proposed to Hyun-Jun. If I were him, I would insist…
Nah, there was a scene in an earlier episode on when the chairman ordered MyungHui to his room after he kicked out wife to the annex. So basically she got the room whenever wife got booted. Before, she was looking all sad about it. Now, she is in her black widow mode and so perhaps enjoying the thrill? 😬
Besides there was no way chairman was living like a monk for 30 years and kept her around for nothing. The guy is too self-centered.
MyungHui's revenge is like a house built of pack of cards. It does not seem like she has achieved anything in these 30 years or so. As Min Jun said, she seems to be focused on Adele to the point that he even seems like a pawn. So what exactly does she hope to achieve? Somehow, by taking over Adele, her sister's death will be brought to light? That makes no sense and even if it does happen, so what? Not like any of these characters will get prosecuted as too many years have happened. If she is supposed to be doing all this to protect MinJun, she is doing a fairly poor job considering the guy has no autonomy, no personality and no life.
Chloe has better chemistry with Hyun Jun and I wonder if audience reaction made the writer perhaps tweak the love lines?
There have been older dramas where this happened. I am reminded of the old drama "Bread, love and dreams" (also known as King of Baking). In the beginning, FL and brother#1 had a small romance. But then they split up and she marries brother#2 and both are doing it for revenge/twisted reasons. In the end, they stay together. So maybe that is what is happening here?
I am in for Hyun Jun and I feel like she will end up with him. The moment Min Jin’s Dad kill her Dad the line…
My guess is that he isn't actually Tae Ho's son. Instead, he will turn out to be the son of Geun Tae, the driver/bodyguard/henchman of the wife lady killer. Clue: Hyun Jun has bombastic styles and also a kind of lazy air. Similar to Geun Tae who seems way too happy to just hang in this mad house.
After some really strong episodes, we did get a superbly flat ending that was kind of meh.
So we had KyungChae unraveling, being haunted, having memory lapses and having this great guilt on her head. It made sense that she would get amnesia but then getting it because of a whack on her head from golf stick was rather dumb.
It felt out of nowhere that all of a sudden JiSeop was going off kilter when he barely did anything useful the whole drama. Also, she and Lucia are kind of friendly. That was off.
If they had just shown Lucia watch it all from a distance, then it would have felt more bittersweet. Instead, we had this odd closing scene where Lucia assures that KyungChae was the best mom. Okay, KyungChae is not well but Lucia is so good??? Ummm, ok.
In the end, Seri got lifelong punishment in a way. She has chosen to be a caretaker to KyungChae and it is not easy to be one at such a young age. There will be lots of stressors and to top it off, KyungChae does not remember her. It is like early stage dementia patient and that is not easy to handle at all. So it felt like Seri got punished while KyungChae ended up escaping through her amnesia/dementia in a way.
At least they had Chairman still be unrepentant but how on earth was JiSeop not punished for assault? So it really does feel like the writer didn't know what to do after those golden episodes where we saw some great acting chops.
The title of this episode seems to be Acceptance.Se Ri tried to commit suicide, at the same place that Mi So did,…
After watching so many dailies, one tends to just roll eyes at yet another birth twist secret but in this drama, it actually was necessary.
Without the birth twist reveal, KyungChae would have never understood the tragedy of what happened to MiSo as she is someone who does not feel empathy for others. It needed to be her loss personally in order for her to understand that her actions were not okay.
In a way, it is reflective of society as there are many parents think that when it comes to other people's kids, they don't care but when it is their own, it matters.
TaeGyeong warned KyungChae that she will lose everything she holds one by one. So in order for her to fall to the ground with a huge thud, she needs to lose: 1. The company and her position 2. Her daughter and relationship with SeRi 3. Her sense of being elite because she is part of the Min family
The writer better not disappoint and give us the birth twist with Manager Gong that we are all suspecting. Out of all the losses, really want to see what kind of reaction she has when she realizes that she is just as common as everyone else and is not entitled to anything like she had believed her whole life.
I would recommend watching a few episodes and then deciding. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been a fun 6…
Also I do appreciate that the villains -- chairman, KyungChae and SeonJae have been doing a fantastic job acting wise. The writing for them has been on point that they come off as fully fleshed characters and complex. We never can predict how they can react.
I also appreciate the role of Manager Gong. It was kind of cool that the ultimate twist in this drama was delivered by a minor/side character. Usually these housekeeper type characters are there but don't have much development.
Denial is definitely the theme of this episode. Kyung Chae is in extreme denial, bordering on delirium and insanity.…
Rather than SeonJae, my guess would be on the ghost/image of MiSo popping up to save Lucia and KyungChae totally loses it. The episode has a total horror theme vibe which was interesting.
Alternatively Seri could jump in to save Lucia and it would be another daughter that KyungChae has a hand in hurting. That would be kind of poetic as well.
