I agree with your review so much!! Everyone has their own opinions, I personally like both actors and think they did an amazing job especially in scenes where there were sad moments or a plot twist, it completely wrecked me and brought me to tears 😭.
Esther Yu’s acting doesn’t bother me so much but I can understand why it would to others. I also felt the directors could have done so much with her character, like when she mentions that she has a second-degree black belt in taekwondo, and learned how to drift and drive a manual. They definitely could have added her in more scenes or included her with the other mechanics working on the car, racing with Jin Zhao, or in some fight scenes. I would have loved this! I hate when the FL relies on the ML for things and “idolizes” them. Like you said him being her knight and shining armor while she just sits around and does nothing.
I 100% agree with the “they dragged it to 29 damn episodes,” and how the first half was amazing until it started to go downhill. I’m on episode 25 and O.M.G I am so close to not continuing and just moving on with my life 😂. Seriously, after 6 years they reunite, she cries and tells him, “Why is everyone hiding it from me?” and asks him if she didn't find out, would he have kept it hidden all his life, and after all that he still tries to hide it from her. Oh and don't even get me started with how the scenes just cut and have no explanation afterward, like yeah, let's include this very sad scene and then boom.. hard cut to something else! She cries to him, and it cuts to her in her house and they never showed how the conversation ended, and then in a few scenes they meet at the cafe and HE IS STILL HIDING HIS CONDITION!!! Like, come on.
Anyways moving past that the second half to me was just a whole mess and kept messing with my head. Either way, I'll still watch to the end and agree that this drama is amazing mostly because of the cinematography, chemistry between the characters, and the storyline(ish).
