And omg from another comment and from you talking about the Bone Orchid, I just realized that the moon stone probably isn't what he turned into but it's the Bone Orchid that Orchid has been wearing the whole show, it just changed back into its dormant form. I can't believe I forgot what it looked like before DFQC gifted it to her and turned it into a bracelet in ep 9. And since the Bone Orchid was made with his heart blood (and probably a small piece of his primordial spirit like when Orchid used her primordial spirit to make the orchid plant), it wasn't possessed by Tai Sui, that's why she was able to revive only DFQC and not Tai Sui too.
I fell in love with his delivery of Hao Du in The Long Ballad, the subtle restrained facial expressions held so much meaning. He's a great actor and amazing singer!
Okay after rewatching, I have a new understanding. At the end when Orchid kissed DFQC again, there was a quick moment of the Heart Curse or the Xilan Seal appearing again on his forehead. That means he's connected to her life again. So i believe that he should've died with Tai Sui but the heart curse practically forced him to stay alive somehow because Orchid was still alive, that's why he turned into the little moon stone. Then Orchid used her special reviving/healing powers and boom! He came back to life. So yay happy ending, and no lazy writing.
ummm so what happened to Danyin and Jieli's father? Did he go to the fairy guillotine and die or did he live? He wasn't at Changheng and Xi Yun's wedding, we didn't even see him at the end...soooo........
