not enough Shoma in this episode...Yes, I'm shallow... 🙃 Anyways, Niihara is amazing ! I love his acting especially in the new episode. Very emotional ! I think he's the most interesting character in the series.

They should have made this as a revenge story and not follow the novel. It would have been entertaining to see Ming and Tong suffer...

Yamase is so irresistibly sexy that I forgot Hayama and Shirasaki were even in the show! 🤣
same ! Also Shirasaki has good chemistry with him too (maybe even more than with Hayama)...

Title My Stand-In
Ming is still that guy who makes Joe sleeps on the floor, which is quite degrading. His possessive character is not cute at all. He's using Joe while thinking about Tong in his "cheating" mind but he also cannot accept that Joe has friends like Sol, cannot accept that Joe talks with girls.

So Ming is not really only that sad "selfish" guy who suffers from unrequited love. If it was only the case, he would not be a "red flag" in fact. Those traits are not some "flaws" in his personality. It's more serious than that. Him saying "Tong" while being drunk is of course hurtful but I find it less dangerous than those traits, because it is something he cannot really control, since they are those unrequited feelings he had for Tong for a long time.

However Ming deliberately makes the choice of degrading and isolating Joe in his relationship with him. He's as bad as Tong, since he can perfectly control those "acts", contrary to his unrequited feelings.

Title My Stand-In
Ming is typically the spoiled brat coming from a rich family. He's treating Joe as his servant and consider him as inferior in fact (when he makes Joe sleep on the floor, for exemple...like a dog...). His obsessive and possessive character is not a proof of love but of power. He's also bored with his life. Normal is "exotic" for him. So why not try that illusion of living as a couple (when he's used to have friends with benefits) ? He's not used to not have what he wants. And that's why Tong also becomes an obsession, someone he cannot have, since he's the boyfriend of his sister. The only person he seems to really love is his sister. But at the same time he's betraying her continuously since he has those "feelings" for Tong. I guess he must feel some kind of guilt and anger (but also desire), and that's why he cannot treat Joe well, since he's projecting his own conflicted emotions on Joe :
- Joe being too close with other people is seen as a another failure for Ming to have what he wants. This is unacceptable for him, especially with someone who's inferior in terms of social condition ? Intolerable.
- Ming is also clear-headed about himself because it's rewarding : he's warned Joe already he's not the perfect boyfriend. He knows he's shit. However, knowing this doesn't make him want to change himself. In fact, this strategy is a way for him to not feel his responsability in destroying his relationship with Joe (and destroying Joe's life btw). The "I told you so" strategy basically means he's putting all the responsability of what will happen on Joe...This is a little too easy, right ?

So -cough, cough- does a fatal event happen to Tong in the novel ? Just curiosity 💀

Yuki is so relatable ! He's an introvert and he's not used at all to social interaction. His abrupt answers 😅! I really like how the actor portrays his character. So well-done ! Seeing him starting to change little by little thanks to Asami who has such a kind and calm aura is heartwarming. They complement each other really well (the hug scene !) . Kudos to both actors. The ost is also quite beautiful. A lovely series !

THAT scene when Shirasaki is finally able to say "I like you" with emotions and tears in his eyes...absolutely gorgeous ! And the acting !

Even if I have mixed feelings about this series, I hope we'll see Chris and Kurt in another series ! They are such good actors ! Maybe a crime/thriller drama ? I think this will suit them really well !

cute episode ! I don't really care about the side couple though. This is so refreshing to see a confident character flirting. Moo character is amazing lol Of course there are cliches but this is done right because the story feels quite "natural" (?).

Just a remark but this is something which regularly flood comments sections of BL series. Judging the quality of a drama/series by its nationality/origin (whether in a "positive" or "negative" way) has always sound weird to me . Some people always bring this kind of "argument". Because it is Japanese, Korean, or Taiwanese, does not make it automatically "superior" though. Just like because it is "Thai" does not make a series "inferior". In both cases, this vision is purely racism. And you are just a bunch of very prejudiced people in fact.

Well it started quite well but the -not so good- story and unadequate pace kill the good points of the series : the convincing acting and cinematography. They should have worked on the scenario a lot more !

Unfortunately, this is getting disappointing as the series shows more and more its shortcomings. The "plot" grows even more uninspired (the gangster twist is too predictable to be a real twist for example). The lack of true tension in that same plot but -surprisingly- also in the development of the romance (!), the use of easy tropes and certain one-dimensional second characters (the sister...), the inadequate pace don't help too. It's a pity because, on other aspects, Unknown has such well-made features, has started really greatly, have really good acting. The disappointment is also greater with a series which have all the aspects of being made "seriously" than for the usual "silly" "BL" series from which you don't really expect much. A missed opportunity.
