I just finished this show and very oddly.... I actually like this show lol. Although it's bit weird at times, but there was some small settle cute moments in there. Let's be honest here... it was because Yagi Yusei that made me watch the show lol. He's really beautiful too lol.
It's started out really weird in a creepyish way, and there were moments in the show where I was like "What is going on here?" lol. However, after I finished it, I can begin to understand both of the characters Hira and Kiyoi.
Lets start with Kiyoi first. He's always been a lonely child and he was a lonely person for most of his life. He always wanted to be love and be a person who is loved and admired by "fans" like an idol. But his wish became true because he met Hira who somehow admire him like a "fan" and worship him like a "god" from far away. When Hira became curious of Kiyoi, and call Kiyoi beautiful, he was surprised to learn that even a guy admires him. At that point, he doesn't know enough how much Hira admires him. After Hira confessed to liking him, Kiyoi tries to understand where that was coming from. I think Kiyoi began to fall for Hira because Hira was always standing up for him and supporting him in what he was doing. Kiyoi's rough attitude was a shield for him from showing his true feelings throughout his life and because of that, Hira read Kiyoi's intentions in different ways most of the time too. After Kiyoi gave Hira a kiss, he thought that Hira would see his true feelings for him. However, at that time, the situation turned out differently because Hira read the whole situation different. After high school ended, he couldn't contact Hira anymore because of the phone number change, and so Kiyoi felt like he was left behind again. After being able to see Hira again by chance, he wanted to see if that "someone" (Hira) truly cares for him again. We can see that Kiyoi attempts to get connect back with Hira because he wanted Hira's phone number and he tries to go to Hira's home again. He also invited Hira to his shows and dinners as well, but simply just states if Hira wants to go or not. After trying so hard to get Hira to read his feelings, he realizes that Hira could not read him fully. Kiyoi begins to be more vulnerable to Hira and told him straight up his feelings that time around. At that point, we can see that Kiyoi did not want to be love and admire by someone like a "fan" anymore, but what Kiyoi truly wanted was a real genuine love that he actually longed for.
Hira has always been a lonely child and lonely person for most of his life as well, but it's a different experience of loneliness that he goes through compare to Kiyoi. Because he was always an outcast, the only thing he can do is usually see things and admire them from far away. This is why Hira has his photography hobby. He tends to photographs things and admire them from far away only. This is the main reason he doesn't fully step into Kiyoi's boundaries, hence admire him like a "fan." Because of Kiyoi's rough attitude, he just assumes that there couldn't be anything beyond between him and Kiyoi. He felt like his love was just one-sided too. However, when graduation came, he was caught by surprised when Kiyoi gave him a kiss. From what I'm understanding is that Hira must have thought that Kiyoi was just doing him a "fan favor" for liking him. Hira still feels like he can't have him, but appreciate the "fan favor." In order to try to forget Kiyoi, he goes with the flow of the situation (his phone fell into the water) and just split from that point on. When Hira saw Kiyoi again, his feelings came back and he realized that it was never really gone. However, he still thinks that his love could not go more than like how a "fan" who love their idol (god). He's happy to be with Kiyoi all again, but then he tries to forget Kiyoi once again. When Kiyoi told him his true feelings and said that he's not a god, but an ordinary person to Hira, Hira seems to realize that he was thinking wrong on his part. At this point, we can see that he realize that he can fall in love with an "idol" who's like an ordinary person. He can fall in love with the one that he likes and it's all fine. He can like and fall in love with someone that doesn't have to be like a "fan" who loves their idol from far away, or like a secret admirer. What Hira wanted as well was a genuine love that he can love in person. We can also include the fact that Hira's parents don't live with him, so Hira don't seem to have much haptic love that he also desires. This is why there's the scene where Hira started to lick and suck Kiyoi's finger. I believe this shows that Hira wanted haptic love too.
What brought both of them together was their loneliness and their love grew through supporting each other in small ways. Even though both of them thought of each other differently, they still supported each other. Hira thought of Kiyoi as the most prestigious person in the world and have the urges of wanting to protect him at all cost, and never said anything bad about Kiyoi's dream of being an idol. Kiyoi thought Hira was creepy and weird for stalking him, saying strange things (such as apologizing so much), and taking his pictures. But Kiyoi never thought anything else otherwise. Most importantly was that they both did not judge each other negatively.
After watching this whole thing, this show had deeper meanings than I imagined, and I was not expecting the show to be like this lol. I thought it was going to be a hate-to-love cute little show and it was going to be all a fluffy light-hearted show, however it was the opposite lol. But I still enjoyed it overall. At first, it did seem quite toxic, but as I finish it, I see the whole show differently. I wish that they could have added a few more episodes, or a special episode to complete this. I feel like I need an extra episode to expand love story a little more and show more cute moments of Hira and Kiyoi. It was not enough lol.
What do you mean by older China version? I think there is only one version by China, isn't it?
There was a previous China version called "Meteor Shower" where it starred the now-banned Chinese address Zheng Shuang. I remember watching it, and I just did not like it as much as I thought I would. The newer one was a little bit better. I mean time changed too, so I can see why the director wants to do a newer version.
I just watched the first episode and I'm actually excited to watch this story again lol. I know this story is sooo decades old, but for some odd reason, I just really enjoy this same story over and over again. I kind of like it how the pacing of the story goes kinda fast like the Japanese version. Seeing that it's only 16 episodes, I hope they do the full story and not in seasons because I really hate waiting. We waited long enough for this series already, and I would hate to wait longer. The drama does feel "up to date" and still seems to stick to the original story so far. Since there aren't many episodes, I assume that the story will go much faster pace with unnecessary scenes.
I've enjoyed the Taiwanese version when I was younger. The Japanese version was also really good too. The Korean version was also really good. I think the version I didn't really like as much was the older China version, whereas the newer China version aired in 2018 was much better, although there were lots of unnecessary scenes in the China version. That made the drama a lot longer. Now, I hope the Thailand version doesn't disappoint as well!
Is it worth watching this show? I'm seeing conflicted comments lol. I kind of wanting to give this show a shot. Is the main couple lovely dovey sweet, or do they always have problems?
The thing I really like about this show is how Ida is really a kind, calm, and understanding person with Aoki. Never have I've seen any BL character reciprocate someone's feelings as beautiful as what Ida is doing. When Ida was complementing Aoki, my heart fucken dropped in all of those moments in the 2nd episode. Its so positive that it could literally make anyone moved to tears... I was about to fucken cry when Aoki had teary eyes too!!! Lol. I felt that very much lol. This is my new favorite Japanese BL for sure, but it really suck how Japanese shows are usually very short though. Can't wait for next week!
I don't know why but when these Japanese BL tried to have Overacting scenes for comedy, it's funny unlike when…
Honestly, it's really just Japanese style comedy because if you do watch lots of Japanese comedy dramas, you will find it that they do that overacting scenes a lot lol. If you do watch lots of Japanese dramas, you will find it to be pretty normal in their comedy shows. All I can say is that I can only watch Japan do this kind of comedy scenes because I feel like Japanese drama have that Japanese style "anime/manga" essence with their comedy dramas.... If that make sense? But yea, I get what you're saying lol.
Man this BL just reminds me of the times I used to watch regular (non-BL) Japanese Rom-Com. I'm so glad Japan is finally making lots of live-action BL shows now. I really can't wait!!! Episode 1 was so funny!! I just know I'm gonna love this show just like Cherry Magic. I need more BL Rom-Com in my life now lol.
Damn I came back to see if there was an update about season 2... But I guess this series really didn't do that well for a season 2. Does anyone if there was a novel version for this series? I know that this series wasn't all that good, but I want reasonings for all of the confusion that caused me during this how series lol. I really want to know what happened to everyone.
This "BL" in my opinion will never be a "BL" ....idk as a gay male myself, watching it did not do not fa me and…
I saw many people say the same thing, so I went back and re-watch the clips of the show again. I do kind of agree that it did feel like they were just "good buddies" who just seem to kiss and such only. I did remember liking it a lot when it first aired, but now I'm not sure if I like it as much as I do now. It's funny at times, but halfway the story kind of leads to nowhere and there wasn't as much comedy halfway the show. I think this BL was one of GMMTV's top BL surpassing Sotus and it's actually one that many Thai themselves like very much. Thats why this show had a special short season 2, and a movie too. I finished the first season, but didn't finish season 2 though. They are indeed very cute and handsome, but the show itself didn't keep me engage to finish it.
there won't be, don't you think the story has already ended well?
All I know that the actors themselves said just to tag GMMTV often and I'm sure if it's garner lots of interests and attention, they might make something like 2gether special season 2. But nothing is confirm yet. That's all I know.

He wanted to explore his sexuality because he was clearly attracted to Tharn. But as a supposedly straight guy,…
Lol your comment is funny! Alright I guess I'll just continue it again anyways even though I think the logic isnt there. Plus there's season 2 as well, so maybe there must be something with the show that people like so much. I'll let you know how it goes.
He wanted to explore his sexuality because he was clearly attracted to Tharn. But as a supposedly straight guy,…
If that's the case, then it was probably bad writing of that scene in the show. They should have hinted more of Type's feelings towards Tharn before just making him randomly say that. After I watched that whole part, I literally just stopped watching the show because it just didn't make sense for Type to somehow to be interested in Tharn for me. For a moment there, I thought Type was a dumb person and didn't think it through carefully. Do you think I should still continue?
I love their fan meeting! It was really nice that they had translators on the show, so international people can understand the fan meeting, although it made the event a little longer than planned. I can't believed that I understood a little Thai when they were talking because I watched so many Thai dramas these days (Not just Thai BL) lol.
During their fan meeting, I'm surprised that their voices sounds kinda nice. I was surprised of Pond and phuwin's voice was kinda unique when they sing. I also really enjoyed Louis and Neo as well. I think they both really got to shine a lot in the fan meeting. They were funny most of the time. I know that Mix was only in half of the series, but they should have probably added him at the beginning of the fan meeting as well. He's still part of the show lol. I can't wait to rewatch the fan meeting because I was watching it on zoom and the quality wasn't as good. Aside that, being part of the VIP was a fun experience and participating in the live fan meeting was a lot more fun than I expected. I'm really gonna miss that experience. After the fan meeting, this show is really over now. How sad. Time to watch some other BL shows now.
And I'm also sad that I missed Earth Mix fan meeting as well. Now I know I need to keep up with GMMTV next time because I didn't check their Facebook page as often, so I didn't know that they had one until after the fan meeting was over. GMMTV should continue to do more online live fan meeting even after Covid so that international people can enjoy it as well.
I was thinking about rewatching this one, but now I remember why I stopped watching this show. I stopped watching when Type decided to pay back his body to Tharn. To this day, I still do not understand how a STRAIGHT guy would give his body as a way to repay someone back. If Type wanted to explore his sexuality with Tharn, that's fine, but his reasoning and logic didn't make sense to me at all. There's so many ways to repay someone back, but literally no one would ever repay someone back with their body.
I watched this show halfway, but not sure if I should finish it. I just felt like the direction of this one was really different from the first one. Quite a different tone from the first one.
I rewatched this series again because I finally bought the original DVD collection from GMMTV. For the longest time, I told myself that I will get the DVD collection one day and I recently got it lol. What I'm a bit disappointed about the DVD was just the lack of extra contents. Usually, you buy the DVD not just as a collection, but because you want to see behind the scenes, extra interviews with casts and directors and etc. Plus there's barely any BTS of this series on YouTube, so that's just my small disappointment, however the boxset itself was beautiful! I'm gonna keep it forever.
I have to say I really love this series and I am glad to have this series as my collection. I watched this show when it first aired and I love it a lot, but forgotten how GOOD this show was.
Unlike many other BL university series, I feel like this series was really in-depth within a university setting. The main actors actually revolved their life within the university life unlike 2gether, Fish upon the sky, Why R U and etc.
In terms of the characters within the show, I thought the Off and Gun did well with the characters. To be honest, I was annoyed at both Khai's and Third's characters at times, but I understood their reasonings for being mad / having their tantrum. Usually I don't really care for the side characters, but this is one of the series where I actually care for them. Two and Bone both were such great friends on both sides of the main couple. It makes you feel like they were really good friends within the shows and so you wish they would get their happy ending as well.
The story itself was a little slow at times, but overall it was a good pace. I felt like it's good that the small details and problems were often brought back up between the characters within the show, and I think that's where the drama itself does well portraying. It's not like the issues/problems/conflicts were presented once and then it's forgotten later within the story. It was always constantly reminded within the show, so it makes you understand that characters didn't let go of a problem so easily. It makes you feel like the characters stand up for themselves such as when Third feels like Khai was being fake, or when Khai tries really hard to prove that he loves Third. I felt the drama splits evenly on both each of the main characters and so you feel and understand each characters' sides and the emotion for them two at the same time. When you watch the show, you know that such events were not brushed off easily. What I really love was the small sweets moments they have with each other even though they were not on good terms at times. My most favorite scene was really the ending where Khai actually presented his feelings through the cardboard signs like when Third did when he did his confession. I think that was perfect sweet moment that makes you feel like Third's feeling was 'approached' the same way.
Overall, I was really drawn to the details within the drama. Even though at times you feel annoyed of the characters themselves, but you care for them lol. Because of that, I felt really drawn into the characters.
Besides that, the OST was amazing and to this day, it's still one of my most favorite BL OST ever created. The lyrics itself were also carefully written for the show and you know they put effort into the song. It's a song you never forget.
I encountered that problem before too, have you tried signing up using a computer/laptop?
Hi again. I just want to say that I got a VIP spot! I'm number 280! Omg you were right! The VIP spots were sold out in minutes!!! Thank you so much for letting me know how crazy the ticket can sell out! Now I can finally have their autographs with no worries. Anyways, have a great day!
