Rumour says that he was forced to accept Fight for Love. That's why his chinese fans are not happy with little screen time there, compared to The Nanyang Mystery. Novel =/= drama. Some of his fans did buy the script for The Nanyang Mystery after its filming ended and yes, his already little screen time was indeed cut.

Regarding zxc's acting, I find it hard to comprehend his expression when he stabbed zhx. I know zhx did a lot of bad things after he turned evil, but shouldn't zhl show sadness/reluctance when stabbing zhx? I didn't see any of that, even in his eyes. Even when he found out that he had stabbed zhx but zhx didn't, his expression didn't look like someone who just stabbed his own brother that has sacrificed his legs and life for him.
The screenwriter and the author of this novel, Xulei, said if there's a season 2, it would be a prequel. But I think this screenwriter keeps changing his mind. Many people are saying do not trust him. That's why whenever they see him as the screenwriter for any drama they will be worried that the work will be ruined 😂

The will be romance between supporting characters later and they even got married that's why cnetz are angry because some of ML scenes were cut. There's no romance between the three of them because Zhang Haiqi adopted them and she is their master. She's actually old too although she looks young. Anyway, there will many scenes with Zhang Hailou & Zhang Haiqi. Many people ship them actually. From what I've read, Zhang Hailou in the novel did develop feeling towards her.
