i didnt know they lifted the 40 ep cap in 2025? one of the reason i was drawn to chinese dramas is the nimber of episodes, so when they limited that to 40 i wasn't the happiest .. splitting dramas in several seasons, making the audience wait for a year or 2 for the sequel, or cutting scenes to make it fit in 40 episodes, has made us watching in pain, sometimes deprived by a piece of narrative which we were expecting to see.. and it was not.

totlly agree! tjc is a very talented artist and can do comedy effortlessly. i was not a big fan of the FL actress, however i have now re considered as she too is a natural, can give a wide range of facial and voice expressions, as expected from an actor. well done to both.
this drama is not not even an 8 for me, as much as i would love to give a higher score, because both editing, terrible AI face swap and consequently cutting scenes, unfortunately that compromise the overall experience as part of the package. at least for.me. but, yes, a full 10 to the acting skills of both and to the old-.married couple vibe/bickering between the leads. they support each other while growing together. a very realistic healthy and mature relationship! 💯👏

hiding the truth in general is one of the trope i dont like in dramas... i still watchthem, but yeah, i personally prefer when both leads are i sync and honest to each other.
other than that, thsi drama is one of the best i am watching this year, even with this drama trope 😊

yes indeed, the narrative of this drama is very special. we only got to understabd the real power of that tree in the last episode or 2... rewatching from the beginning will definitelly have more sense!

i have started rewatching since the last few episodes as there wereso many changes that i wasnt able to follow it up.. but you gave me a good idea as i too should rewatch ep 1

unexpectedly i really like this drama, i am usually more into historical rather than fantasy.
So, besides the beauty of it, which is undeniable (actors , make up , costumes, photography... all), it is engaging me, it makes you question everything you had believed to be correct up to the previous episode.. each character role is rotating, one was good in one episode, just to turn a villain the next, and then back again being good and so on... 🤪
I had dropped FoF at 2 thirds of the drama, but with this one i haven't, as i am differently engaged, i am investing time in it and rewatching episodes to try to understand it better (by the way the last 5 minutes on ep 22 were my favourite ones of the whole drama! great acting/special effect/ the angst ! i just LOVE IT!!!

ah i didnt know they cut scenes due to that. i just though there was some issues with the editing department.
i am.halfway through now, i had previously dropped it, but decided to give it a second chance again after POJ. And i have to say, it is not bad. Nothing special really, but definitelly watchable and enjoyable for a light watch 🤗

i agree to everything you said here. I had dropped the original drama because after the in depth narrative regarding the injustices he had faced, i just couldnt agree about how the mistreated SML was seen, as a villain deserving again punishments. that was too much for me 🫣

me too... in the original story i liked his character better than the ML.. however in princess agent they gave more impact to his pain and to the injustice he has received, you can feel for him more.

thanks for giving me an overview on what is to come. i might giving it a try for another episode or 2 and see how it goes. 😉
