Woa what a refreshing and cute drama. Another unique successful tvN creation. When I first started it I never…
It took me a while before I realized where I saw him before... "What's up Fox?". He's much younger in that, but he has a similar charm and unexpected chemistry even then - it must've just gotten even better with age.
Usually I go by the five episode rule, where I make myself watch five episodes before I determine whether or not I will like (or hate) a drama. This drama totally had me fooled into thinking it was one thing, and episode four totally switched my thinking completely. My advice is for people to at least watch episode four before deciding. You may still hate it, but that episode was a game changer for me.
Does Seol become less annoying? I am prepared to feel the wrath of fans, but I pretty much want to strangle her!
I totally did see her as flawed, and didn't know if that was on purpose or not. The flawed narration theory is what may make the difference for me watching from now on. I actually agreed a lot with what the teacher character said to her after the presentation, and didn't really feel bad for her, but you're right... the character just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe I will warm up to her as the series progresses, but right now my candy is definitely Jung.

Very interesting view point, and definitely gives me a different perspective to see this show from. Also, mine is not a theory (since I'm still figuring out what's going on) as much as a reaction to the character... a reaction that makes me want to shake her aggressively! I started watching because I was curious to see whether it would have appeal if I didn't know the webtoon, and I'm not sure that it does for me. I'm kind of curious how it will hold up on it's own, and then I'm thinking of going to the webtoon afterwards. Right now, In Ho and Yoo Jung's relationship is what has me still watching. (i'm on episode 6)

OK. I think I'm supposed to sympathize with her character, but I don't. Instead I watch her overreact to situations, then go into an emo confused stare. Obviously I haven't watched the webtoon, so I'm watching this totally cold. I think she's supposed to come across as sweet and innocent, but she doesn't to me. I expected Senior Yoo Jung to be much more "sinister" based on her reaction, but instead it seems like she's forcing herself to like someone she is determined to find fault with. She is super passive aggressive about it too, so she can still come across as a victim.
I was annoyed until about episode 5. I didn't start getting really into it until episode 10. Now I get an addict twitch every time an episode ends. 50 episodes is starting to seem less crazy to me.
