And them dropping labels like it's not a big deal??? Do you see that, Thailand? That's how it's done! π
Oh, here comes the heartbreak π₯
Ritsu no baka!
ππππ
At first I was like "that's way too much π¬π¬π¬" at Masumi's stalking tendencies. But then Ritsu pulled out the fail-safe card... they are both messed up.
I really hope this isn't going to end with them taking the drug, (one of them) dying, and then the meteor miraculously misses earth by a bit. What an effed up ending that would be!
WHAT THE- ???
Yeah, the show's going to be one hell of a ride π And I'll need a therapy after this π
[Episode 3]
He's not dead? Then I guess my doom ending's no longer possible π
Lmao he's still playing? π€£ What a jerk!
Poor Masumi π₯
Wow. Monogamous for week? What a sacrifice he's making for Masumi! (/s)
The ending song really puts things into perspective πππ
[Episode 4]
Wow, that mom subplot was a low blow π¬π¬π¬π¬
I get not wanting to spend your last days with her, but they should at least drop her some food and water to last for the week.
What a trash, Ritsu! Blackmailing him like that.
Sunset? Shouldn't the ride only take around 3 hours??
That's just stupid alibism! Go give her some nourishments and be done with it π
[Episode 5]
Why would anyone need money in such situation?
And here I thought we could avoid the "female rival" trope during apocalypse π
Lol. Boy needs something to hang on, I guess.
Not what I expected!
There's a subtler way to say that, you know?
He really is a miracle boy!!! Let it rain, let it rain βοΈπ§οΈ
[Episode 6]
This drama is such a ride. I'm not sure if I'm getting accustomed to it, or just don't have enough energy to be surprised anymore.
He's surprisingly fine, compared to how effed up he looked before πΆ
Yeah, I'm crying again. Desensitised? No chance πππ
[Episode 7]
This B-word! How dare he ask him to sacrifice his future, just because his other son couldn't make it on his own? I wouldn't be that "understanding".
How do they know what routes to take to Hashimoto?
And even here we have "beach" episode ππ
Everyone having similar underwear... Does that mean they share Ritsu's? πΆ
LMAO his audacity!!! I know it's the end of the world and he has nothing left to lose, but still? It wouldn't hurt to have a bit more self-reflection π
And this is how it should end. No need for episode 8 π
The humor in episode 1 was pretty lame for the most part, but it got much better in the second episode!!! It's still very preachy, but in the workable way (I'll take the "marriage petition" over CP's equality PSAs and whatever 609 tried to do any time of the day π)
Plot? What plot? In my popular thai BL? Not a chance. They are mostly at office this time, because colleges aren't going as strong anymore. But don't you worry! They are still sub 35, young and attractive, at least one of them naturally rich. They do stuff, but you probably won't remember what exactly. There's a friend group, sometimes loud. Ex-something for the drama. And that's about it.
Overall, this is fairly basic. But enjoyable. Alongside Past-Senger, it's a good way to offset some more serious shows (Our Micro End and Jack O'Frost for me, plus Chains of Heart and/or Love Syndrome for those that are watching them) π
Aside from the time-travel thingie, it fits really well into the long list of thai college BLs from ~2018. It's cheesy, funny, slightly offensive, with long slo-mo "romantic" stares and really awkward dancing scenes. The only progressive thing in it is that we moved from engineering to architecture. As far as plot goes things are all-too-convenient at times, but it passes by swiftly so I don't mind π
He isn't one of the brightest, but certainly not lacking in the emotional department π
I'm mostly blind to acting in BLs, but even then he was significantly better than Dunk in SIMM. Cute as he is, it was either skipping all of the confession scenes, or drowning in cringe π
Not only Moonlight Chicken didn't avoid the penultimate episode drama, it was twice as unnecessary and annoying as usual. If I had to rate the drama right then and there, it would have been a generous 7.
Since episode 8 brought in more fluff and I managed to calm down, let's compromise on weaker 8. It's significantly better done than your average mediocre 7.5 show, but not really strong enough to reach the 8+ category for me. I loved Gaipa, and LiMing-Heart were pretty cute together for the most part. Other than that, it wasn't sticking out much.
Not so bad! (A sentence that will most likely cost me all of my remaining MDL credibility, but who cares π)
It's silly, and plot-holey, all too convenient at times and only has a semblance of direction near the end. The ending itself is mushy and story-breaking. And yet... it's quite watchable! Quirky. I don't regret watching it. A 7.5 drama that's quite all right for seeing once. [It also made me tear up at the end π
This is a 9/10 show, the same way FUTS or Once Again are.
Does it make much sense? Progressively less the more you think about it. Did it manage to turn me into emotional puddle? Multiple times π
If you're looking for a bulletproof plot or seamless editing, leave that thoughts right at the door. But if you just want to cry and laugh and root for people when everything seems to go against them, come right in π
There's been more Ben-Chopper progress this episode than in the rest of the series. Part of me feels happy for them, but a bigger part mourns my polyamorous polycule dream π
Also, BL writers should finally update their playbook. "Break up for his own good" has already been done in dozens of shows, and it was dozens - 2 times too many.
The girls on the beach must be like πΆπΆ getting so much free tea with their coconut juice π
This could go either really well, really badly, or so badly it's actually great!. Personally, I'd prefer situation 3. Will probably keep watching in case of 1, but there's a big possibility it will turn into 2 for me very quickly. So it will be like a roulette game the whole time.
One pretends to be in a car accident, just to make his bf come back home! That's so out there I can't even call it attention seeking.
And the other dumbass? Pushing his lover into arranged marriage setup and then getting jealous over it? Oh, boy! What did you expect will happen if you send him on a blind date? Him not being there in body and soul? Major jerk move.
I don't know about this one. Most of the time, it's just so. darn. slow. And annoying. Boring. Why did we need that 10 minute food convo? I thought he will never finish climbing those stupid stairs at the end! Some of the action scenes are fairly good, but other are ridiculous. I like Hin when he doesn't talk. Someone tell them that close-ups of people lying on their back are never interesting for long, no matter how much dirt you put on them. My favorite parts are probably the flashbacks of Ken and Din.
I'll give it one more episode. But if it doesn't start moving somewhere watchable, I won't waste any more of my time.
Hopefully, the end of the world makes a comeback in final episode π
[Episode 2]
WAAAAAH
I did NOT expect that! π³π³π³

The MLs are cute, naturally. I think I prefered Book's personality in EnchantΓ©, but their dynamic (and the plot in general) is better here. And there's Fluke, as a bonus. Force is, yet again, just there. Not much of an personality for now (unless you count "sad dog" as a personality).

2 = really badly
3 = so badly it's great
With so many BLs releasing at once lately, I don't have enough time to give everything a try. And this seems as mediocre as they come, unfortunately.
Does it make much sense? Progressively less the more you think about it. Did it manage to turn me into emotional puddle? Multiple times π

What the hell are these stupid boys doing???
