This is one of my go-to rewatches. Their character development and relationship development was a treat. Plus, she was very different looking and not a damsel in distress.
This one has been on my list to watch. I really wish that the Chinese writers would get a clue that after suffering through 36 bloated episodes, we would really like to see the couple actually together.
Great review! The writers like to write angst a lot, but not so much with the couples being happy together. Typically, for 16 episodes, you have 15 3/4 episodes with drama, breakups, and filler, with the last 1/4 episode for the very rushed ending. Ugh, I'm so tired of that!
Great review for what I thought was a great show. I also like Lee Se Young. I just finished watching Doctor John though, and I didn't care for her character in that at all, though that was more a writing issue than the actress herself. Bae In Hyuk is an actor that fascinates me, for some reason.
Excellent review! I typically don't love makjang, but was planning on watching it to see what all the fuss was about. Even in the trailers, her lack of expression really bothers me. I may still watch it, but your review seems like the most realistic and well thought out of the ones I've read. Thank you for taking the time to write it. And I love the rants, by the way!
I hope you will go back and re-review this once you watch the full drama. Unfortunately, so many K-dramas/C-dramas start out strong and then tank in the middle or have a terrible ending. I'd also love to know more specifics about why you think it is so good. It always helps other to know specifically what you liked or didn't like. For example, if you loved the romance aspect of it, why? What did you like/not like about the characters? Was the time travel well done? Where is the focus - is it on the time travel, romance, friendships, etc.? These are the types of things that help others decide to give the show a try. I'm glad you are enjoying this show. Since you said you haven't watched a lot of K-dramas, have you seen Twinkling Watermelon? It's another school/time travel drama and it's excellent. Have a great day!
First, I need to get over not being able to complete even a bad drama. I have only dropped a couple of dramas in the past. So, I suffer through...but I will write a review, not so much for others, but to remember what I watched and what I thought of it. My memory isn't what it used to be!
Great review! I totally agree with your thoughts about the FL's acting. I've been holding off watching this, because she's not a favorite, but it's kind of like coming across the scene of an accident, you don't want to watch, but you can't help yourself! I really appreciate you giving specific examples in your review.
Great review. Korean dramas tend to often miss the mark when there is medical stuff involved. And OF COURSE the parents would have gone with her! You are so right! The more reviews that I read about people's complaints of the drama, it seems like more time was spent on other things rather than the romance between the two. I'm all about the romance, but this one sounds like it falls short.
I enjoyed your review. You make very valid points. I'll probably watch it since everyone else in the world has seen it, but I'm sure I'll be disappointed.
