Tbh I didn't finish the book. I didn't care to finish the book, more like it. A complete english translation is not available. But I skimmed read some of the last chapters using google translation.

But yeah, nope, there's no revenge. Gao actually already knew who the rapist was. When they meet for the second time, the rapist takes him home and rapes him again. Then they end up in a relationship. I have no idea why. The writer is f-ed up basically. Before that, Gao also has sex with a bunch of men. Some are of questionable consent and some unprotected. Maybe he was on a self destructive path. But the most disturbing thing is that the story shows him actually finally enjoying sex after those encounters, and he starts minimising the trauma of being raped. He convinces himself that it's just sex at the end of the day, and yeah he basically gets over his ptsd.

Omg I feel so much better now that the rapist actually got arrested! Justice finally prevailed.

I love how Gao Zhun had no clue who that guy was, but once he found out, he stood up for himself and took steps to avenge himself.

From the very beginning, I found the drama incredibly well made but kept wondering why Wen Dao had chosen to adapt such a shitty novel out of so many others.

Sorry Wen Dao for doubting you. Thank you for not romanticising rape. You really are a genius. Thank you.

He is still studying and learning the craft, so give him time. Both of them are really good for their first time. I've seen so many BLs with bad actors but these two are really promising.

I'm a massive The Untamed/MDZS fan and I would love to see Ollie and Shuyuan as WWX and Lan Zhan. They would fit the roles so well especially the younger versions of the characters.

Tbh I wasn't satisfied with the kissing scenes at first, but I'm surprised that our teenager top is getting better at kissing with each episode. I still think Shuyuan needs more practice lol. The one with Fang Chi and Gao Zhun in bed was really good. But this kiss from the bts was the best one for me so far. It was so natural and soft. Don't know why they cut it out. I loved how dazed Shuyuan looked afterward haha.

Trust me, they aren't just dating, they're head over heels in love! I've watched all of their livestreams, bts, reaction videos, holiday videos, the pics they've posted...and yes I stalk them on X 😁and I can tell what's real and what isn't. Other actors do fan service but this isn't one.
