Rather than discrimination, I think favouritism would be a better word. I think showing this made her character more realistic. I've seen too many parents who favour one child more than the other, though sad, it does happen in real life.
I don't know why people are hating so much on this. Sure some things could've been done differently but the whole plot of the series is to show how greedy people are. Really glad that Park bo young did this drama, honestly can't imagine any other actress for this role. Bo young really potrayed both the characters so well, I actually felt attached to them and also related to their emotions. One of the best dramas I've watched this year <3
