I love Pursuit of Jade—don’t get me wrong. Changyu is a compelling character, especially considering how much…
I've gotta agree. "I'm stronger than him" "YZ will only kill 3 people anyways, whats the harm in replacing him." - implying Yan Zheng has no innate worth as solider/strength, these are words that are emasculating towards a partner and demeaning imo. He literally just said he could be promoted earlier, so taking away that opportunity to showcase his battle worth, was not necessary imo. YZ a lowly soldier is deserving, he shouldn't be valued only when he becomes XZ.
Its trust issues, this isn't about gender, I wouldn't like to hear I'm considered weak, those words would actually hurt me, just as his lie would too. Even when injured he is still stronger, its just facts. He may have been weak in past and dependent on her - but the dynamics need to change now, he is not a matrilocal husband no more, he's your equal because 1. we are at war. 2. he isn't dependent financially/medically etc. 3. its not an arrangement anymore, both are with each other to be equal emotional partners.
I think she is being overprotective here, thats where it stems from, so it does come from a good place, so its fine, but its verging on being unhealthy. Both of them are - since their fear of losing one another is so high, they are behaving like that.
He lied thinking he needs to protect her from it. And she has protected him by drugging him. Both wrong. And I think this is what her character is probably realising now with his lie out in the open now, "that he isn't dependent on me financially" "he doesn't need me" etc. Though he will always need her now in the healthy sense - for emotional strength and ally as partners. And that's why she wants to become higher rank to feel like she is his equal. And good on her for wanting to in terms of social class, but its also ok to not be too. But atleast with the lie out in the open now, I hope there is more equal respect, TRUST in one another's abilities and recognizing each others' strength and vulnerabilities. This is what the crux of their growth story is to me.
(I feel I gotta preface "Im not a male worshipper" nor do I follow any c-actor/actress. Just my 2 cents as a viewer 😅). Please allow people to have varied opinions, this is entertainment and that's how I interpreted it.
I think the director’s style has both pros and cons. He’s undeniably artistic and knows how to give viewers…
I think it appears that way since he’s telling them how to do romantic line delivery. But I don’t think he nitpicks everything. We only see a handful of BTS.
Agreed. Its beyond an unnecessary thing atp. I just get the ick.I can only assume its coz he might die or something.
Yea totally it would've been, "girl please stay away from him, he's not keen" or the "he's just so loveable that everyone is keen and can't resist him" All I see is boundaries not respected either way and its just not realistic.
If the guy is passed out, then he doesn't go to the battlefield, so why does she insist she needs to replace him? One person ain't going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things, especially for a first timer that will hesitate in killing people. This whole drugging him to go in his place doesn't make sense to me at all. Esp since its after being punished once as it is, why repeat another military deceit. 🤔 And though in the ep teaser she says she went to the battlefield coz of the lie, but she would've done everything she did with the food and going to the battlefield irrespective of knowing his real identity or not. I get that its part of the character growth to becoming a general, so I'll put up with these 2 ep.
Im annoyed with her isn’t she supposed to be smart? Dumbing FL down again so ML can protect her. I need to watch…
I get what you mean. But it was this way in the book too though. She needs to learn to strategise with others about military and politics etc. Her being perfect at everything on the first go isn't believable either. Its part of the character development for when she becomes general.

Did these type of shirts exist back then?
Don’t condone AI at all. But this Snow White xie zheng version was funny. He really is a princess lol 🎀
THE CONVO BEFORE THE MAKEOUT SESH !! 🥵🥵🥵🌶🌶
All I see is boundaries not respected either way and its just not realistic.
I'm sorry but OPs point has nothing to do with this. Criticism for a character has nothing to do with gender of artist.
I can only assume its coz he might die or something.
And I disagree, if she knew it was marquis, I think she would still worry as wife and so the drugging him for his safety would still occur imo.
