The concept for food and drink was understandable enough since they show the real ones staying where they were, but throughout the episode it looked like he opened the actual door and i kept thinking how can the people not hear the door close or see it and if it was "the ghost of it" then why was there an empty doorway when he opened it. It is kinda confusing. He should just be able to walk through since he is not made of matter and its simpler

episode 5 was so fun, can't wait for ep 6!
. there is one thing i have a problem with though, and that's young min opening doors. does he actually open doors? or the ghost of the door (y'know what i mean), and why does he need to? why can't he go throgh doors and walls

it is just really bad writing. at first i was so excited for the drama, watched two episodes and i liked it, then episode 3 and 4 made no progress but i was willing to be patient, episode 5 and 6 and they were still yapping about alcohol and so few interaction between the characters. people sayin how they ship the CP with the girl, aside from the fact that i find his character irresponsible and annoying, even his interactions with her were just drinking, he had more interaction with the ML tbh. y'know what? i think they should remove the girls since most of the interactions are going on between these two men. and it's so interesting that the FL didn't even bother to look for another way to make money? she sold alcohol, got busted, then started whining about her hard life and doing nothing, then she started the alcohol business again. episode 7 and 8... i didn't have the will to watch it, even for the love of YSH. i am not curious about what's gonna happen next. they're probably gonna get busted big time and a whole mess happens with the king and the traitors get exposed and CP finally accepts the thief and leads are gonna get a high place in society and alcohol will be free. the plot is just BOrInG

it is such a shame, we didn't even have enough interaction between the leads. YSH is a great actor and he deserves to be in better series than this and i waited so long for his new serie. i think they should cut the alcohol scenes and get on with what happened in the palace and the crown prince who died.

Yeah, it would be ok if it was just her using the situation to make money, but the scenes she says stuff like "alcohol to grown ups is like sweet milk to babes" and starts fantasizing about opening a bar and scenes people are killing themselves just to buy alcohol are just too much. Also i find the 2ML extremely irresponsible and childish. Idc if he has trauma or sth, instead of facing his problems and finding a solution he just runs away and drinks and hasn't done anything else. He doesn't care how many people get in trouble each time he escapes palace...smh

exactly what i was thinking! the guy hit the rocks so many time he should've turned into a pulp :p yet not only he stayed alive, but also stayed conscious enough to walk away

i'm enjoying the characters' story but i wish they'd cut the alcohol crap short. i don't really understand what they're trying to say with this, Alcohol is so great people can not live without it? it is an absolute necessity in people's lives that the ban was a work of evil and suppression when korea does not even have enough flat lands to grow rice etc so people must absolutely waste it on alcohol? the plot kinda feels like a commercial for alcoholic beverage companies.
i wanna see more of the romance and character development, historical dramas must have a dumb side-plot to bore us

i'm wondering too. also i don't see many negative comments about this serie idk why the rating just became so low all of a sudden? three days ago it was 8.2, then it jumped to 8.9 and now it's 8

you can watch it when it's finished so you can have a break from sageuks until then

say is there any korean king that is actually competent? and why does the king need so many sidekicks and councillor in his palace

Yoo Seung Ho is a very capable and great actor and the very first drama i watched from him was Arang and the Magistrate and i got to like him since then,
this drama, comparing to other historical dramas had a more interesting start and didn't waste our time with tear-jerking backstory of them and i liked it so far, i am not a fan of korea's drinking culture and them treating alcohol as a remedy for all their problems and don't really care about politics in any of the historical dramas so i'm just following the two leads journey.
i think both Hyeri and YSH show a more entertaining acting than norms and the interaction between them is gonna be quite fun. as to comparing it to other historical dramas i think it has a closer feeling to 100 years my prince.
one thing i don't understand in their historical dramas is that why is it necessary to have a plot concerning the palace and why must one of the leads be in the palace, why can't they just show us a story about the normal people falling in love and their culture and their ways of life, who cares about their politics?

i watched 4 episodes and i kinda feel lazy to watch the rest of it, it doesn't attract me and i just wanted to watch for Rowoon,
i'm not gonna say if the story is good or bad, buT God dO kOrEans love "girl is mistaken to be a boy because she wears men clothes and is so flat that noone notices" type of cliche because i've watched twenty series with the same plot and i do not like it. historical dramas already have little new things to offer, with the same politics and same love stories, but this paticular cliche mAkes me roll my eyes into mY sKuLl and snooze.
i'm sorry if i'm being negative in the comment section, i just wanted to rant a little. the rest of you may like this plot line and i understand it is ok and the story can be attractive for others and i'm not trying to hate this particular serie, i'm just saying in GeNeral i'm tired of this cliche in every tv serie

why tf should he apologize to public for his personal life? i'm getting tired of seeing actors' names in articles for sth that has nothing to do with their fans, i'm not fully aware of what has happened here, its not as if he commited a crime or sth. maybe if korean fans weren't this obnoxious, their celebrities could make better choices for their lives without the fear of jeopardizing their career

That's what i said above, i seperated the two parts now.
You said she was immature and i agreed and said yes, i've noticed by some of her behaviour in earlier episodes. Then what i said was : i expect a woman of 35 y.o not to make toddler noises and show some dignity.
Again : 1) i feel like this thread got all tangled up
2) honestly, in any other country other than South korea, if anyone talked in baby tones with their S.O they'd look weird, but even in south korea i don't remember a female character above 30 talk this way unless they were portrayed as an airhead housewife. And her change of tone was too sudden in those scenes.
Anyway, reading the threads again i see that some things were answered incorrectly by everyone, the other person was also commenting about the last part of my sentence about her toddler noises and saying it was ok for her to act that way but then i think she connected the previous sentence to the last, where i DID NOT say that an educated person shouldn't talk in childish tones, and now that i read it i see that i answered her incorrectly also, this comment section is full of wrong answers😂😅 imma let it be for now and i'll just delete the main comment in a few hours
