I agree, now there's this trend which ml is more green flag. Personally, i don't have anything against of it. I love yearning mls, and green flag. But, if there are complex characters, we don't need to always turn them into green flag. I love when the characters are such we can both love and hate. The things is representing the complexity of a character is much difficult than making the character with the same green flag template.

Hi i get your frustration. On some of the points, i agree with you. Esp that vacation guy, and ml being unreasonably fixated on making fl resign. Honestly, i found that both ridiculous and funny, if i pretend not to care about fl's feelings. And fl too has no spine. Personally in a real situation, i can never end up with someone like the ml.
But regarding your point of him not changing his bad mouth throughout the years. I just have a thought about this. Him being jerk is not something that had a reason. Being jerk is his personality. And he has always been like this. So changing that will take time, and he need to understand more about his flaws. The main problem with him taht he is too arrogant to see his flaws. But i think if you look closely he started changing, being more empathetic towards fl, but that was only through his actions, not words. And that too he didn't really understand his own actions well. So even after separation, he was the same. Bad mouth, expecting fl to be same accomadative towards him. But then he saw fl now did not give a f*ck. And if he want her, he needs to understand his flaws, and change himself.
cdrama fans will give a pass every red flags if they have seggs in drama, they are just boring and selective activists.
I don't think it's exactly that. Yes the character is red flag, and people are waiting for this. But they don't support his character. Fans are looking more forward towards fl leaving him, and him groveling. I will say the initimacy do excite many of them. But it's not all. Also the character is not bad person at core, he's complex. In novel, he had his character development. And personally, i love when the characters are complex, have flaws, and mess up a big time. It's more real. But the character development is what that makes difference. At the end, you can not watch if it doesn't suit your taste.
Finally!! It's coming.. On 26th! Waiting so long for this one after reading the novel. In the trailers and other clips, they seem to be following the novel, I hope it is the case. Luan Nian is going to be so red flag and complex character. Just they don't mess with it and represent the character well, and all their misunderstandings.
