Just up to episode 4 and boy, this kdrama is intense! Now watching episode 5-6, and I feel it has a major flaw in the story. Once the judge admits to having an older son in the school being investigated he should have automatically recused himself due to conflict of interest. It does not matter at that point whether his son joined the cheating club or not. If he is acquainted with the school through his son he should not have taken on the case.

The reality is that the police did not solve this case. The brothel owner led the police to the serial killer even though prostitution was illegal and he risked being arrested himself. The serial killer told them everything they needed to connect the dots and prove his guilt. The police demotion and public outrage against the cops were understandable. I mean they let the killer walk out of their precinct the first time due to their incompetence. It was really quite unbelievable. The police didn’t even think about watching the killer’s mother’s house after he escaped from the precinct. And why didn’t the mother warn the police ? Her son came home after admitting he was a killer and he gets rid of the evidence right in front of her. She should have been considered an accomplice. The one detective who suggested looking for him the second time in the one area where they eventually caught him deserved a medal.

The summary description seems similar to the American movie CODA, which came out in 2021. I just found out the CODA was the American version of a 2014 French/Belgian film as well.

I am confused too but I think that the scholar is the older child of the woman, not the baby all grown up. She was his birth mother who could not return to her family so her uncle took her in so she could raise the baby. The older scholar who gave him the job to pursue the truth was her uncle who took her in.. A number of years passed from when the FL and ML met and when they reunite. My question is why was Ryan Eum all gray when everyone else was still the same looking? And who protected Ryan Eum from being killed while in jail? The Crown Prince’s son all grown up or nephew?

First of all, the word accommodate does fit here just like it does in an educational setting. Second of all, this forum allows for different opinions and telling me that I don’t fully understand what I watched is insulting and condescending. Are you a psychiatrist, psychologist, writer of the kdrama? If the answer to that is no, no, no then we can agree to disagree. I normally do not comment on any of these dramas because it is suppose to be an enjoyable experience but there is always those who try to show how very smart they are and ruin it for others. If you do not particularly care for my thoughts on this drama you could have merely scrolled by but instead you decided to “educate” me. You are obviously sensitive to this subject so I will try to look away from some of your rude comments. For all I know it might just be a cultural difference but either way from now on just scroll by anything I may post in the future.

I agree that people with mental illness should not be shunned and should be able to return to some form of normalcy after treatment but like so many other things in life, everything cannot be changed just to accommodate them. I’m not trying to be heartless just realistic. The young girl who was determined to become a pilot is an example of this. She could strive all she liked to become a pilot but she had to adjust to the fact she could not become one and still find another job where she could experience some of the joy of her dream. It is unrealistic to assume that a job will accommodate one employee when all others have to finish a job no matter how much overtime there is to accomplish this. I’m aware this is a difficult and sensitive subject but all people, which also includes those with mental illness or a disability, need to be realistic as to what they can and cannot do.

I had mixed feelings about this kdrama. I found it a bit tightly wrapped. Everyone including the doctors, nurses, friends have mental illnesses just like the patients. It is either coincidence or it is too neatly bundled. The last few episodes show the continual struggle people with these illnesses have. The issue does not just disappear like a big poof and life returns to normal. It becomes a new normal for them. Their coworkers, friends and love ones remain anxious and watch every nuance, sign that they will fall back into despair. Is it not difficult to understand how the rest of the world worries about their ability to function at work. Yes, the FL is sweet and kind but maybe too nice and too kind for this kind of work. Her best friend is smart and capable but has a panic disorder which keeps rearing its ugly head at his new job and eventually he does get a hold of himself by telling his boss about work laws and leaves on the dot at 6. Although I cheered for him, I found this extremely unrealistic. The episodes where the nurse realizes she was never meant to be a nurse but a cruise staff member was so out there. I thought she would realize she loves to sing and dance, lol. It was weird to me. So, I did enjoy this somewhat but if I got anything out of it, it was that some with mental illness never recover, some continue to function but struggle and then the horrible toll it takes on those people that love them. I think that was not necessarily what this story was trying to portray.

So I believe he is bisexual because he is in a romantic relationship with a woman in the beginning of season 2. He loves the ML but there is no sexual content. He owes his life to him and wants to protect him but the ML treats him like a younger brother.

I have no idea why that would make a single bit of difference to this absolutely beautiful kdrama. Love is love is love and does not deter from the love story of the main characters.

If you remember, at one point Yang Chun, their benefactor, tells Ryan’s Eum to accept Lee Kang Hyun’s love as a younger brother and to not be greedy. Ryan Eum is apparently bisexual because he had a relationship with a women in the beginning of season 2 and leaves her to let Lee Kang Hyun know that Gil Chae has been captured by the barbarians and is in Shimyang.

I’m actually surprised by the high rating of this historical kdrama. I’m on episode 25, which means that I am not even half way through and wondering if I will have the patience to fInish it. The only thought making me stay with it are the 25 hours I have already invested in it. The fl is suppose to be so clever and smart but I find her to be stupid and slow throughout. Her facial expressions and hesitant actions are ridiculous. The ml, the king, dethrones his queen and takes his concubine as his new queen even though multiple people have told him multiple times that the concubine cannot be trusted. Deep down he wonders and yet makes her his queen. This kdrama came out some time ago and I am so glad that kdramas have evolved. If this had been my first kdrama I would not have watched another.

Thank you for asking this question before I start watching this long cdrama. I just finished 40 episodes of Love is Full of Jiudaowan and was turned off by the Chinese propaganda in the last 3 episodes. It was disappointing especially since I was enjoying it up to that point. It really ruined the way I rated the entire series. I find many Chinese dramas seem to add communist, patriotic propaganda in their dramas so I tend to shy away from most and go towards Japanese or Korean dramas instead. They are more honest and do not try to make political statements. If you are looking for a really good Chinese drama that is enjoyable without any of that there is Hidden Love, The Oath of Love or Dating in the Kitchen.

Shocker. I loved this Chinese drama. It was tender and wonderful to watch and for once there was zero propaganda. Just a pleasure to watch.

I absolutely agree. At this point I don’t know what the FL lead sees in him. He is a terrible husband and father. They should have been his priority.

Please tell me, did FL miscarry or have an abortion in episode 26?
