Just a beautiful cdrama. I wish I could give it a 15. Not only was the cinematography beautiful to watch but I learned so much about China’s diversity. I could watch it again and again and again!

You are only listing the negatives of condo living. I live in one and there are advantages too like everything else. You need to do your due diligence in checking out important info about the association, like how much is in the reserves, before purchasing it.

I really liked this cdrama. I normally steer away from more “contemporary” Chinese dramas because many are riddled with propaganda but I found this to be a more realistic depiction of that time, no matter how bad or good it was.

Yes. It’s ok to move forward even when you are missing and remembering those who you loved that have passed. I thought it was the perfect ending. Full circle.

Yes, you are right. It is a job but if any awards are given out for performances they should get half of the award. Acting is not only what you see but also what you hear.

I’m more against the use of voice actors. If someone else is talking for them then half the acting is really being done by others. I understand it is due to China wanting a certain dialect but perhaps the actor/actree should learn the dialect to perform in a drama.

It’s been awhile that a drama has deserved a score of 10 from me and this one got it. So many are really good in most of the episodes and then fall off at the end. Not this drama. The ending was absolutely perfect and beautifully done.

This is rated so high all considering that it diverges from the actual novel and falls short after episode 44. The unauthorized translations out there are so different and hard to follow. I don’t recommend anyone starting this cdrama even though episodes 1-44 were intriguing. I’m not going to check this as spoiler because I don’t anyone else wasting their time.

Who wants to help me understand the baby swap? I have asked AI about this five times and each time it came back with a completely different scenario lol. I’m on episode 44 and I still don’t have a clue how it went down.

I agree. I really enjoyed the fl and ml relationship and their estrangement did not last very long. The teacher was such a bad character and so many people died unnecessarily because of him and his wife. He deserved to be truly humiliated in front of everyone and not just die an easy death. Really a shame it ended with such a weak ending.

I agree. The ending was so disappointing. I expected teacher to be totally humiliated at court but that never happened. It was a solid 9 for me until the end…and then it was an 8 only because I really loved the ml.

This cdrama was good (episodes 1-39) but the ending (episode 40) was pretty bad. There were so many options for the ending and this was the best they could do?

Why would a writer explain why they did or did not change something so the fanbase would be satisfied it was factual? They have literary license to write anything they want and you the fan have the right to watch it, find fault with it and even not like it. They indicated it was a work of fiction so what else would the writer have to say that would satisfy the fans? It’s fiction, especially the coronation? There is definitely a sensitivity here because of the history between China and Korea but I just don’t know if this justifies the attack on the drama. I saw some of your other comments and there was a lot about this drama you did not like besides the lack of factual accuracy. Was it the best drama I ever saw? No and I really did not expect it to be. Now on to my search for a special drama. I’m always open to recommendations.
