I enjoy the show but something I wish they would have done is keep the relationship true to the novel. In novel the couple never breaks up after marriage. They are ride or die for one another. No secrets or old love/crushes can get in between. The trials come in different form.

My guess, he threw out YeLi to a deserted mountain and ge regrets it. In novel his hair goes white when his beloved wife falls off a cliff in battle while pregnant with their first child and is MIA for six months.

If the only factors kept from adapting a story are the main characters names and the fact they are married but change 99% of the story why bother adapting the novel at all? I would enjoy it more just being it’s own story.

Both are good, but yes completely different. The novel is different because they keep her as transmigrator with military background. She walks hand in hand with the ML throughout the novel.

In the novel, ML’s hair goes full white due to one specific plot.

Be glad in the novel there are about 4-5 secondary female characters who run around obsessed with marrying Prince Ding as principal wife even though he is married.

They actually removed many of secondary female characters who are obsessed or want to marry ML from tge novel. In novel there is this former finance, Su Zide, who was from same country, but betrayed ML and his household with the emperor. She helped kill his brother, faked her death and became concubine Bai of enemy country. So it will be interesting to see how they have the tv version of her act. His craziest stalker is the imperial concubine of great Chu who isn’t in the show because the emperor has been reimagined as a child versus 40 year old man.

Her mother’s family is a centuries old famous scholar clan. Her grandfather is a renowned teacher at Mount Li. The emperor is an older man not a child, he is extremely wary of the Yu family (maiden family) so they do not participate in court politics. Ye Li is the only girl of her generation and has 5 male cousins. They all adore her and she lived with the Yu family growing up after her mother’s death. Her Uncles, first and second cousins end up helping Prince Ding residence rule the land they end up conquering and relocate the academy after the emperor orders the death and seizure of Yu family in a power move. Her third cousin trains and is a team leader in YeLi’s black ops military group she forms and trains based off her past life military training.

I like the main actors but am disappointed with this novel adaptation. Outside of four main characters and the main plot if marriage switch all the “little” changes entirely change this story from novel. Like astrologer Lv and his evil mustache twirling ways, it’s just not a thing in the novel, no divine punishment. Also if I hear one more word about monkey mountain I will scream!! 🤦‍♀️

You are correct not the same, FL whole maiden family is gone. There were no Uncles on her father’s side that had interactions. There was no Li family nephew. Her royal concubie sister is gone. Her mom is dead and her grandmother is not senile but mean and plotting. No monkey mountain, a ridiculous way to explain her fighting and military skills versus reincarnation.

What in the heck. There is no Ji family being held hostage by bitter love rival. He knows he loves his stepmother, his father knows and he is sent to govern a town far from the capital. Not hold hostages then get beat by a whip. They changed so much of the story here at the end and I for one prefer the novel.

I have enjoyed the show but the last remaining episodes previews have me concerned. In the novel, FL already has a son and pregnant with second prior to her husband confronting villain. No war, no dead bodies, what the heck is this show changing at the end. I was ok with the change of making his son and daughter from novel and from his first marriage his nephew and niece in the show. Taking away the utter hater CXQ felt for her until she married his father and he realizes he actually liked the reborn her, also understood once show removed the Chen father son factor. But changing the end for dramatic effect, boo. You wanted to adapt the no el for a reason.

I was surprised how good Dilraba was in this. Maybe the other projects I’ve watched she in weren’t a good fit or her acting has really improved. It was a very enjoyable series and again Dilraba was beautiful and gave a great performance.

Ok excited after looking at trailer but spoiler besides character name and some plot points the main premise is already different from novel. There is no double or achu.

But XT chose to keep her in the bubble, by lying, using her business as a bargaining chip to maintain his power hold.

She was too passive. She can vocally state her disappointment versus leaving her own party. Ask the other party to leave. Maybe a cultural difference but she should have expressed in words her disapproval. Personally I would have said we no longer need to be involved in each other’s life as you show a lack of regard for respect of relationships or our friendship.

JX non reaction and it’s ok to date my ex fiancée. Not real, actually makes me dislike this story. Even if you are over your ex, your “friend” chasing and thinking it’s ok to date your ex without telling you show she is a selfish woman who doesn’t value friendship.
