definitely isn't, and i'm glad to see that episode 2 is a bit shorter. i'm generally just never a huge fan when office rom-coms are longer than 60 minutes because it just feels like we're going in circles after a while. I guess we needed to set the scene a little in the first episode, and unless the plot is crazy, i'll be happy with 60-65 minutes/episode!🤩🤩

chief song's hatred towards eun ho is just so unwarranted and weird, that's unnecessary drama for me personally. if i was the male lead i would have just quit ngl😭😭

if you're into scheming and political/power struggles, then yes! it's a drama about seeking justice and taking revenge; the romance, however, is just on the side and not entirely the focus (but still feels great!) :)

I agree that the male characters were dumbed down quite a lot in this show, but I will always appreciate how we have this gem full of female characters and not an ounce of hostility was shown between them ever. I feel like they could have made Hao Jia jealous or envious of Li Wei for example, because the latter had it "easier" (she had a better, kinder husband and Yuan Ning was strict but kind). Instead, she was smart and sensible and still a good friend whenever it was within her power (as in when she could sneak out of the house regardless of the consequences awaiting her). Even her relationship with the eldest prince's legal wife improved (mainly because she saw that he would be physically violent to his concubine too...)

yes!! i think what makes the 2nd prince even worse is that he isn't even good at anything. whenever he suggests something in a memorial or in court, it gets rejected lmao - because it may SOUND and LOOK good on paper, but you cannot execute it well. he just has no crazy talent and to think he's lowkey considered an immediate heir is crazy😭😭 at least our girls make up for all the terrible men in the show! the depiction of female relationships is my absolute favorite, it's done so well💗

i cringe whenever the 8th prince even breathes in ruoxi's direction tbh like what's his problem he's married to her SISTER already😭😭😭

i think he just sort of enjoys being able to do what he wants with his 2739823 wives + he doesn't want to be in cahoots with the eldest prince since the latter is a scheming scumbag
