I watched the whole scene again and the translation is quite on point. I would say! Nothing got lost here! I think that Hioki understood that "not a regular friend" as "best friend" while of course Watari meant something different inside, but didn't want to push forward too much yet.

There comes a point where discussion is pointless. If someone thinks their opinion is the center of the universe and dismisses all other viewpoints, then he/she should be allowed to believe that. he/she probably thinks everyone who likes this show is shallow. I love sophisticated films and literature, yet I still enjoy shows like "School Trip." My motto is: to each their own! I have no objection to criticism, but imposing an opinion on others or calling them more or less stupid demonstrates a false sense of self-importance. So just try to ignore him/her! I will do so! ;)

Hugs (like the one behind the curtain) or eyes can convey so much more meaningful importance and sexiness than a kiss! That's what this series give us along the way. Even the confession was less dramatic but fullfilled in an emotional quietness. Loving this series!

"Good" is subjective, but if you like BL in general and if you like smooth series without rivaliries, this is for you. It is very heartwarming anf for me one of the best series ever!

Signed in just because of this wonderful drama! Have been watching Jdramas for several years now, also BLs, but this is simply one of the most wholesome series. No drama, no rivals, and still full of excitement! Loving the slow pace, love the differenct glances between Watari and Hioki! Loved the hugging scene in the 5th episode as it was more intimate than a kiss could ever be.
And adore the 6th episode! When Ryoto asks if Hioki has someone he likes, he shortly glances at Watari. What I really like about this series is how much eyes convey, more than words. And how Watari often gets shy when Hioki look straight into his eyes. So watari might be the jealous, obsessive type, but he has such a kind and loving nature.
Truly one of the best series I have ever watched! Can't wait for next week!
