I believe, honestly not quite sure about, but I think I coud've somehow forgive her for all the failure and toxicity, and damage she bestowed on Yi Cheng, if she actually ever came to realize her failures in Yi Cheng's up bringing, and the damage and conseqence of her toxic behavior

But, the most tragic thing is, she never did. Because se never even realized or thought, she was wrong.


Until her last dying breath, in the novel, she never apologized or said sorry.

Honestly, I’m not sure. Because they already diverted from the novel. In the novel they were like 20 years apart, and both Yi Cheng brothers as well as Lu Feng had a son. Ke Luo is actually Lu Feng's son in the novel. And they play a very significant and very heartbreaking part in their life and in their relationship.

But since they don't exist in this version, I suppose that arc gonna be left out, and for good, because believe me, that’s gonna be a really-really terrible and heart wretchedly, agonising, painful train wreck of a journey.

And I should warn everyone who doesn't like Lu Feng, rape, physical, mental and verbal abuse, Honestly STOP WATCHING.

Because though I do love Lu Feng, but after this episode, he really gonna become a wild, crazy beast and a monster.

According to what I watched in the trailer, I suppose the kiddnaping gonna happen.
So, he's going to kidnap, drug, rape, physically, emotionally, mentaly assault, humiliate, restrain and lock Yi Cheng up in his house.

His exwife comes to free him and wants to shoot Lu Feng, but Yi Cheng jumps before him and he's gonna be the one who gets shot.

He's gonna be in coma in a hospital like for a year? I can’t remember the exact ammount of time, but he's gonna wake up. While Lu Feng stays by his site the entire time.

So, anyway, after tons loads of misunderstanding, heartbreak, anguish, suffering, twists and turns, they do end up living together. But Lu Feng is like 50 and Xie Cheng 45-46 years old when it happens in the novel and they get their HEA.

I suppose he blamed him for his already terminally ill homophopic, egocentric, emotional abuser mother's death. For his brother’s accident, even if his brother was the one who started the fight and provoked Lu Feng. (The fact, he did admitted to Yi Cheng, years and years later in the novel.)

I actually don’t hate Yi Cheng, because he was a kind hearted, warm, good person.

I just hate how he handled his realitionship with Lu Feng.

How he never chose him, how quick he was to judge and blame Lu Feng. How he never stood up for or by Lu Feng. How easily manipulated he was by others against Lu Feng, while Lu Feng not once gave up on them, and not once let himself be influenced by others, or cared about anyone's opinion or judgment if it came to Yi Cheng and their relationship or his love for him.

He practically gave up his family, his wealth, his life of luxury and entitlement just to be with him.

He was a very pride full person, but he even continuously gave up his pride and kept begging, pleading Yi Cheng to stay with him.
He kept tolerating both verbal and physical abuse from his own as well as from Yi Cheng's family for his love of Yi Cheng.

And not once, did his strength and intensity wavered in his devotion and in his deep, unabated love for Yi Cheng.

Yeah. Honestly, while reading the novels, I didn't-couldn't understand Lu Feng's unwavering love for Xie Cheng for about 35 years. Because as he said to Lee, to his son's boyfriend in the novel "Love late."
Xie Cheng never chose him.

I watched Moon Indigo and the Novelist. Started to watch my Personal Weatherman.
Wasn't my cup of tea.
I stored it away as smtg I couldn't relate to.

Honestly, I don't know. Till today, there isn’t a proper translation of the novel. I read it on some Chinese site at the time while had to click on English transformation after every chapter.

Yes, I think so too. Maybe they should watch KBl and JB series, with men in their late 20-30 acting like virgins.

We don’t know, because there isn’t that much explanation in the novel why he did it.
But honestly, if I was in his shoes I would have done it.

It was obsession from the very first sight Lu Feng's eyes landed on Xie Cheng. Honestly, I can’t really remember in which novel it is mentioned, that he told Xie Cheng when they were in their early fiftieth; that Xie Cheng should be thankful he waited four years to hunt him down, because Xie Cheng was smtg like 10 or 11 when he first noticed him and became obsessed for a Life time.

The same. I've read the novels of Revenged Love, Addicted, To my shore and almost all of Lan Lin's and the 188 series by Shui Qian Cheng years ago, and then recently discovered and watched the movie or series adaptations of some of them. (I actually did love the adaptation of Uncontrolled-Iressistible love.) And realized how much they HAD TO alter the original story in order to make it feasible to their audience ten years ago.

Yes, it is watered down. And I actually didn’t expect a literally true version to the novel, because imagine the outrage and 'witch-hunt' for the directors and producers, if they actually did try to stay true to the novel.

Same here. Though while reading the books, I couldn't find in myself any kind or warm feelings nor much sympathy towards Xie Cheng's mother or brother. His mother did continually emotionally blackmailed him, and his brother was a hypocritical piece of shit, who hid Lu Feng's letters , not to mention his own not quite brotherly feelings and so on and on...

Please, please, I'm begging the vigilant, moral squad to read the warnings and tags, because they are there for a reason. And if you have an issue with a fictional story that contains rape, assault, abusive, toxic etc... leads. Simply, DON’T WATCH IT!!! Nobody forces you to do so. But if you do, DON’T COME HERE whining about how toxic, dark, abusive the ML is.

The same with me. I don't like horror movies, genre like Idk... "The Texas chainsaw massacre" or smtg like that, so I don't watch them. But if I did, surely, I wouldn’t go and complain about the extreme, bloody violence, gore, and terror, the graphic depictions of slaughter, dismemberment, torture, and what kind of severe, intense psychological dread, and anxiety it caused me.
Nor do I judge people, or suppose and accuse my acquaintances of being sick, pervert or a seriel killer, just because they like horror movies. To each his own.

And also, I don't get it, why is everyone so outraged about Lu Feng cheating on Xie Cheng.
Oh, wait... he didn't!
Firstly, because he did nothing! (Actually, in the book he did, but we're talking about the series here. )
Secondly, even if he did, he couldn’t cheat on Xie Cheng because they weren't f-ing together.
Since the moment they met again, Xie Cheng lied about having a girlfriend, and kept refusing Lu Feng and thwarted Lu Feng's every attempt and pleads to beign together. So, in my opinion, Lu Feng would have had every right to seek pleasure elsewhere.

I might be in the very, tiny minority who actually doesn't hate Lu Feng and neither did, while I read the books. Because in my opinion, he was the one, who always suffered and endured more in, their relationship, due to Xie Cheng's indeciviness, his behavior that consistently prioritizied the approval and needs of others over Lu Feng, while for Lu Feng only ever Xie Cheng existed.

And if you hated Lu Feng, in episode 4, honestly stop watching. It gets worse and darker and more abusive etc... And the actor playing Lu Feng does a terrific job showing us Lu Feng controversial character.

I read the novels smtg like 5 years ago. And it’s one of my favorite novel of all time. Then discovered there was a LA version, which I honestly didn’t like that much, and it wasn’t due to the actors performance, but to the way how much they changed the original story.

And since then, I kept wishing for somebody to have the guts to try remain true to the source and make a series or movies or whatever. And, Voilá it happened.

Actually, I find myself more disturbed by the fact, how terribly, painfully, heart wretchedly thin and famished looking these poor actors are.

I first noticed it in Revenged Love, how heartbreakingly thin the actor playing Chi Cheng was. And then I realized, it’s a pattern with Chinese actors.
Is it some requritment in Chinese entertainment industry now, for the male actors to look half starved?

But, he did do so much more despicable things

As a hard cored Hannigram shipper, I honestly don’t get it how could you wrote down this sentence?
Hannigram was so -so much seriously more f-ed up then this. I don’t want to dwell into the canibalism, or how Hannibal stabbed, framed Will for the very crimes he committed etc... So, pls tell me, why the guy in these series doesn't deserve redemption, but Hannibal did?

Maybe you should watch Hannibal, the series ( not the movie with Anthony Hopkins) with Mad Mikkelsen, because Hannigram is my favorite ship, or Interview with a vampire, ( not the movie with Tom Cruise, but the 2022 series with Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson)

Yes, I know, both of those are tagged as horror series, ( and I actually, do hate horror movies) but I gave them a chance for Hannigram and Loustat.) And in regard to BL romance, none of them disappointed me... rather on the opposite.

For the reasons mentioned in my comment, I really can’t whole heartedly recommend you any other tv series, and even Round Trip to love and Irresistible Love were an absolute sterilized version of the novels.

As a total sucker for Shui Qiang Cheng's Scum Gongs Group and ( Sissy, Alpha predator and Years of Intoxication being my favorite) Lan Lin' s Round Trip to love and Uncontrolled Love, and love : both the tv series and novels to the moon and back, this series is a piece of cake for me.
I take my hat off to the directors for having the guts to remain true to the novel. Because I'm just so fed up how today everything is red flag and how directors and producers are forced to alternate and water down on the original source's toxic, messed up, obsessive -possessive, crazy characters just to suit the expectation’s of all the faint hearted, prudish, hypocritical white lilies of the moral commando.
Don’t like really-really f-up, crazy, obsessive scum bag ML-es? Don't read it, dont watch it! But if you did, don't come here to complain and generate hate about how despicable and messed up those characters, novel or tv series are. Obviously, there are so many ridiculous trigger warnings today, you should read them, because they are there for a reason.
