Literally!! It had so much great potential. They could've had the leads work through their grief together while raising Woo-joo. Something deeper!! Instead we got this mess.
I honestly hate the direction the plot ended up taking. From the beginning, it felt like the story was setting up something much deeper and more emotionally grounded.. Hyunjin and Taehyung trying to navigate their grief and unresolved trauma while also stepping into the overwhelming responsibility of raising baby Woo-joo. That alone had so much narrative weight. Watching two people who are barely holding themselves together attempt to create stability for a child could have been raw, intimate, and incredibly powerful. There was so much room to explore their coping mechanisms, the tension between them, the guilt, the quiet breakdowns, and the small, fragile moments of healing. Their shared grief could have either pulled them apart or slowly stitched them back together in a way that felt earned and meaningful. That emotional struggle had real depth and long-term storytelling potential.
Instead, the love triangle feels completely unnecessary. It doesn’t deepen the characters or add meaningful conflict. Rather than building on the emotional foundation that was already there, it shifts the focus to drama that feels shallow in comparison. The show had the chance to explore something complex and heartfelt, and it chose a trope that adds very little. It’s frustrating because this story could have been so much more.
